Well, I've excluded the OD directory (actually all of Stardock) from my AV scan - no real change in my programming slow down. Only time will tell if it is slower doing "general" stuff and moving around. As for memory footprint - my ODPlus is using 3M mem and 36M virtual memory. Not sure if that is common, but that's what you have. BTW I've got 7 tabs on a single dock and I've turned off the sysTray dock for now. <a

Ive been noticing my computer slowing down doing a lot of pretty basic things recently. Things like doing a Save As in Paint Shop Pro, navigating in FF and various things in my programming development environments (Delphi & VS.NET) were slowly driving me mad. Now, my PC is pretty high end (Dual Xeon 2.8, 2 gig ram, NVidia 6800GT video, 10k rpm hds), but I was getting tired of the slowdowns and seriously considering whether it was time to ref
Ive got a bug to add to the OD 2.0 list: after opening a full screen graphics application (namely games), the OD dock on one of my secondary monitors ends up with a little bit of funky extra background. I have attached a before and after shots to illustrate the problem. Before: After: <BR
Any updates on getting this working or is Stardock's position that these widgets are just broken and cant be fixed?????????
all of my weather widgets - I generally use Vector Cell Weather as well as the standard weather docklet in ObjectDock have been broken by upgrading to DesktopX 3.0. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to get these working or a recommendation for widgets / docklets that DO work under 3.0? IMHO, making a major upgrade that broke the existing objects was a major fauxpas by Stardock... (Im a developer and if I let that one slip by without putti

Well, the problem is I WANT it attached to the edge - I just dont want it to be a drawer. Im still holding firm that this is a bug - as nowhere does it say that just because you attach it to the edge, it automatically becomes a drawer. These are two distinct and separate functionalities. khariV <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCustomi
This is a really annoying bug that happens 100% of the time, so it should be fixable. What happens is that if you drag an object dock (specifically I am dragging my tabbed dock) near the top edge of the screen, it will dock to the screen and then turn on "Dock as Drawer". I then have to manually go inside the properties and uncheck the drawer positioning. The dock I am working with has the following settings Tabbed Dock Tabs below ic
checked having Hyperpaint turned on and off and neither setting makes a difference. Not sure what you mean by turning off msstyles in services... if you're talking about the "Themes" service, yes I tried disabling that and it did not improve the results.
Update on this issue: I tried downgrading to ATI Catalyst drivers 4.12 and now WindowBlinds loads up and can set a skin, more or less. However, there is still some screwyness and the system will randomly freeze for a few seconds regularly. Additionally, it will also exhibit the above behavior on occasion, requiring a hard reset. Is anyone else using ATI cards with WindowBlinds (has to be) that has seen any strange behavior?
I am having trouble running WindowBlinds on my work PC. I can run the WB configuration program just fine. However, when I try to load a skin, any skin, the trouble starts. Once WB is finished loading, I can no longer open any explorer window. Existing explorer windows get skinned just fine, its just new windows that never open. Additionally, the task bar stops responding. Once I try to launch an explorer window, the cursor is always an h
This happens on my 3 monitor system too. The problem is RightClick does not seem to want to allow windows to open up in with a negative X value for the window position. On my system the center monitor is primary, so the left monitor has negative X values and the right monitor has positive X values. The system is as follow: 2 - 1 - 3 All monitors running 1600x1200 Monitor 1 top left: 0,0 Monitor 2 top left: -160
I'd like to request that the icon wizards make icons for 4NT (by JPSoft) and AllOfMP3 Explorer. Currently I am using the default windows icons and they are quite ugly when compared to the rest of the icons. thanks in advance.
I'd love to see full multi-monitor support for all objects in the API. I posted a problem with 3 monitor systems in the OS Customization group. It would be nice to be able to use DesktopX objects and widgets on the left most monitor.
actually I am running the center at 1600x1200 and the side monitors at 1280x1024. You are correct however in that I am only having trouble with monitor #2 though. However I have the same problems at work where all 3 screens are running at 1600x1200. I believe the problem to be the fact that #2 has negative values for the X axis since the center monitor is set to primary. <img src="http://images.stard
I have observed that a number of the DeskTopX widgets and objects display problems with my 3 monitor setup. These problems seem to be related to the X and Y values for monitors. My setup has 3 monitors setup as follows: [2] [1] [3] Monitor 1 : primary monitor (1600x1200) upper left (0,0) Monitor 2 (1280x1024) upper left (-1280, 0) Monitor 3 (1280x1024) upper left (1600, 0) The basic problem tha
I run UO in windowed mode (more options for arranging the pieces parts) with WB and I have had no problems at all. You might try updating / changing your video drivers. In the past, I have had very strange behavior with UO and odd video drivers (especially 3d).
Problem solved by deleting my "WidgetCache" directory (see details in "Missing Widgets" post above). woo hoo - my widgets are back
I posted this in the OS Customization folder - but I figured xposting here might get me a few more answers. Thanks --------- I have been using Desktop X for some time but now, all of a sudden, my widgets are starting up off screen somewhere. This happened once before, and Im not sure what caused it but I had to reinstall XP, so the problem went away. Well, now its back. Whenver I go to startup certain widgets (ones
duplicate post...
tried that- the widgets run just dandy when Im running DesktopX - they show up onscreen no problem. Apparently its just when Im running them as standalone EXE's that there's a problem. ugh.
I have been using Desktop X for some time but now, all of a sudden, my widgets are starting up off screen somewhere. This happened once before, and Im not sure what caused it but I had to reinstall XP, so the problem went away. Well, now its back. Whenver I go to startup certain widgets (ones that I HAD used before) they startup somewhere offscreen (maybe). Of course, without a system menu I cannot retrieve them or even figur
OK - sort of answered my own quesion - found the .SYN files. Now the only problem is there is no (None).syn file that I can edit to make it the default for all sorts of random files. Any ideas on how to set up a SYN file for all of the random files that I might open????
In an earlier version of OE, you used to be able to set the tab width - now its apparently hard coded at 2 spaces.. please please please put that back in - a 2 space tab makes my code look squished. thanks khariV
