updating now, I'll post back when finished. I only had the purchased copy of CursorXP before, I've never installed any other Stardock product before purchasing Object desktop yesterday. Is it possible to include the purchased CursorXP I have into SDC? Just that I could then keep tracks of any new releases to CursorXP as well. Many thanks.

Yes, I have Stardock Central v 1.22.247 build: 38
No trayserver.exe was running, although the program does exist on disk under c:\program files\common files\stardock. Double clicked on it, it now appears in task manager, but nothing happens to the icons in the system tray. Very confused, the system tray worked fine until I installed Window Blinds.
Just had a look in the registry and this doesn't look right, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER the stardock installation created another HKEY_CURRENT_USER containing Software > Stardock > WinCustomizeTray ie HKEY_CURRENT_USER > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Stardock > WinCustomizeTray This only contains "check updates" with a value of 6
Hi Koasati, I had checked that "hide inactive icons" was checked in the taskbar. I also reapplied skin decides taskbar size. Rebooted. Using Apollo skin and 30 minutes later system tray icons still will not hide. I am puzzled....
Thanks for the advice Wreckless Eric & Koasati. It was set to "Skin decides taskbar size", but I have played with changing this in the past. So I pressed apply changes again just in case. Previously been running Apollo for about 45 minutes without the icons becoming hidden. I'll watch happens now I have reapplied "Skin decides taskbar size". Not sure what the timeout value is when an icon is c
Many thanks, I got the display properties back by rebooting, so the major panic is over I am still having issues with the system tray. Just downloaded Ivory, looks very nice except the system tray again. One icon always appears outside the tray I'll try Apollo and see what happens to t
I have only recently purchased object desktop. As such these issues maybe becasue I am new to this product and need a driving lesson. Any help appreciated. I have so far only installed Windows Blinds 4.2. I selected XP Corona as the skin to try first. I have noticed that the hide system tray icons no longer works, i.e. the sys tray icons don't get hidden if inactive. Is this 1) a feature of windows blinds in general? 2) a feature of only XP Corona? 3) something else tha
Whoops, yes to the left of the clock. As you pointed out: if to the right it would fall off the screen.
Thanks, just be to sure we are describing the same thing, WMP 9 is running with the little toolbar with forward, reverse, volume controls etc in the start menu bar just to the right of the clock? Sounds like it, but I would like to be 100% sure before I part with my cash! Thanks for the prompt reply
I have Windows XP and Windows Media Player 9. I am thinking of purchasing object desktop but I am concerned by some info I have seen that suggests that WindowsBlinds, DesktopX and ObjectBar prevent the Windows Media Player toolbar from working. The Windows Media Player toolbar is turned on by right-clicking on the Start menu bar, selecting "Toolbars", and turning "Windows Media Player" on. When you minimize Windows Media Player 9 it then puts a toolbar in the start menu bar. Ca
link doesn't work me. Is the server down or the link in error?
A quick question. Is it possible to buy object desktop and a wincustomise subscription from a single place? Just that wincustomize has window blinds but not objectdesktop in its store and stardock has no wincustomize subs. Having it in one place would save me paying currency conversion charges twice on my credit card. Thanks
Many thanks stockholm syndrome. I'll take the plunge sometime over the w/e. The stardocks/wincustomize add-ons are competiviely priced when you compare them to the what you get with the two Microsoft plus releases!
I would be happy to subscribe to wincustomize if I could understand the stardock product range better, it is a bit confusing for somebody new to skinning. Could anybody help by clarify the following questions please? 1) does using window blinds take up any CPU time once the blind has been applied? 2) do applications as well as the operating system windows take on the theme? i.e. a consistent look and feel? 3) what stardock apps would I need to: replace the w
See the thread started by Polojoe12 entitled "Bootskin wont work". This should resolve your problem. [Message Edited]
I have the same issue as described above. If I download then double click on the .bootskin or open bootskin and do a file import I get the same error message. This is in the form of a windows popup window. title = "BootSkin: Error" message text = "There was an error importing the skin file. Possible causes are a corrupt skin file, or a read-only skin directory". The bits in the quotes "" are the actual text. Both these two methods create an empty folder with the bootskin name. I have removed the
I found this Microsoft article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304148 It explains which applications update the unread mail fields. These are Outlook Express and Windows Messenger. As I use Outlook 2002 I will never see this info. I thought I would share this in case others are puzzled why they do not see the unread email notification on the logon screen.
Thanks Apocalypse_67, I had a look at the tutorials and had a good look at the default XP logon to understand what the various parts of the logon screen are. I had noticed that the welcome themes included with LogonStudio had the shutdown string as "Turn of %s" and I had hoped that %s was a variable that referenced the actual computer name. Alas all I get this the actual string including the %s. I have now changed this to the less exciting "turn off computer". I have downloaded your epo
Thanks for the advice, yes I run at 1200 x 1024 screen res. I tried changing the center image style to stretch. This worked in that the black bits were removed, but the image was not so hot when stretched. I guess the best bet is to find (or make) a logon at this screen res. I also noticed that you can edit the messages. Some of the logons include a %s which I guess is a variable for the computer name. This does not work for me, it just displays "turn off %s" . How do I get the variable
I have just downloaded the loginstudio, this looks like a really nice addition to the customization tools. Unfortunately I am having a problem getting it to work. The logon screen is grabbled. E.g. if I choose any of the three sample welcome screens the image on the right hand side is messed up. Instead of going across the screen, only the top 1/5 goes across the full screen and the rest is chopped off and appears as black, rather like an inverted "L" shape. I really liked the
Sounds great news, any chance that this technique can be applied to the shutdown screen as well? Fingers crossed
