+ I have to agree with Hunam_ that minimalistic might look better. I do not like that you can immediately see if a planet has a satellite (moon) or not. I think it makes more sense to "bump" into a planet that automatically leads you into a screen devoted exclusively to this plant and relevant surroundings - gives more space to place more moons, stations and etc.

Btw., will there be some background in solar system navigation screen? I think that SC2 had superb backgrounds in solar systems (just don`t follow UR Quan master HD route) + I think that dotted orbit lines (like in original SC2) control look better than current lines. + Was the ship traveling too fast or was the system just small, hard to say (may be both factors) but the area seemed small.

When I was talking about random events... it was about some SMALL changes... like a 5% boost; in case of nerfs it can be higher as it adds more challenge . So it does not make you superpowerful and etc. but just adds some modest randomity + extra flavor. But having them on and off seems ok. As for moons... we do not have to be 100% accurate, but it would be nice for planets to have moons. More ideas, options and etc.

Do you guys want to see some random events? Like a month of efficient engineers that causes your engine to lower your fuel consumption by 5% or "sudden alien virus contamination" that reduces your crew by 15% or smth like that. It is not a timed event like Pkunk Death March that we had in an original SC but rather some small events with good artwork and description that might add some flavor.... I think DLCs should simply add more... of everything - more music. more art, new areas/dimensions, new quests, may be even races. Just don`t make them... semi mandatory for best experience of the initial release. Like ME3 did with Prothean. I hope you get the point. If artwork, ideas. writing are great - people will buy DLCs. Just don`t make them - green-red skin for the ships or smth. along this line.

Just as an idea, why don`t Stardok people develop something like "Star Control the Space Battles" - that will focus on melee alone, rankings, upgrades, duels, capture the starbase things and etc. as a separate product and SCR could stay like an old SC2? With simple, easy, fun and unbalanced melee....
