The way I see the situation (w/o trying to fit it in the legal framework): 1) Stardock already invested a lot of resources (both tangible and intangible) in SCO. Stardock decided not to use or reboot the SC2 universe (and they could have done so). Besides making a great game Stardock is afraid that their sales (profits) might go down if players come to a conclusion that the true game is only the one made by F&P, that it is not Star Control if it has no Suppox and etc. and/or if F&

Do not reduce the number of planets! In terms of exploration - one might act in several ways or in combination: make planets with less rigid terrains, make smaller planets, cut the number of minerals with increasing their value but do not reduce the number of planets! Diversity AND numbers is the key for the future mods/universe. Lander exploration is fun. I wounder if there will be hazards/bonuses that are linked to sunlit/dark surface. Will we be able to destroy environment to some extent - like level a mountain? Please, make sure that we have some interesting planets like in ME2 (or ME3 - forgot which part) - if you read their description - there are some nice treats. Oh, now I get what you are trying to say. Then ~guarding~ a star base makes sense. I just do not want to be focused on - oh, there is another attack at star base Y in 2 days, there is fuel shortage at base Z, there are not enough ships at star base X and etc. I want to be immersed in pure exploration and talking to the aliens, resources management shall be limited to upgrades and construction of new ships and modules... Re teleportation between starbases - why not? Btw. I hope that there is an option to switch it on-off completely (and/or you have to have a special device to use teleportation between star bases or some other modifier) or choose if these teleportation things allow teleportation between certain/all starbases. I do not like the idea of starbases and/or colonies attacked at random time periods. It distracts from the main story and exploration. I do not want SCO to turn into resource management-strategy game. We have other games for that. But may be this is just me. Deathclock is ok, provided that it gives MORE than enough time to complete the main storyline even at rather slow and somewhat relaxed pace and provided you can still continue playing afterwards if you win. Ok, I managed to find another 5 mins to type something (this is not the appropriate place for August and September updates but...). Btw. i think that there might be some artists in the community who could contribute artwork, models and etc, for free for the plain vanilla game (i.e. not mods) and might be even ready to sign waiver (so they won`t have to get paid for their artwork) and etc. I think that if there is need for manpower then Stardock might ask for "free of charge & waiver type help" and some will answer the call.
