I don't like the system where you have to zoom out to get to see the cloth map. I also don't like that I can't zoom out in the normal view without entering the cloth map, as I've set the cloth map to open up when relatively close for practical purposes. You need the cloth map at times to figure out which tiles are forest and which aren't (this is already in my opinion a problem), so I would like to just switch between map mode and norm

I had that problem also, ended up creating 3 identical ones and saving them all. They didn't appear on the selection screen until after I rebooted the computer, then they were all there and I had to delete 2 of the clones. I think it's just a bug.
Okay, I am sorry for a double post, but it is necessary. The picture tells it all. What I said previously about champions attacking cities for no reason, well apparently it applies to faction leaders as well. I am linking to the save file one turn before this. If you press 'end turn' 50% of the time he will attack me with no hope of winning, and
You would think when you set difficulty level at the beginning of a game, it would mean difficulty level for the whole game. Roaming monsters and factions alike. After that you should be able to tweak it from the default, say when you are setting up your AI opponents. There is no indication that it works otherwise, and no intuitive reason to think so. In the short time I've been on these forums I've seen this same problem repeated a few times already.
Looking at Civ, some of the additional things they do to help control overly aggressive city expansion in the early game is to halt city development while building a settler. Settlers are also expensive resource and time wise. Starting a settler in Civ generally means setting your city back by at least one population point as well as two units or buildings in the early game. The opportunity cost for expansion in Civ is very very high early
Just been having a nice little game with the new exe. I have to say, I love it! It's way better than before, the computer actually puts up a fight! There was a couple times where I was being hit so hard and heavy in one of my cities that I just about lost it, down to the last unit with minimal health. But I noticed some strange behaviour now that didn't happen before. For example enemy factions seem to send lone heroes against my cities, and sometimes a group of 2 or three heroes at a

I would prefer to see them automagically rebuild after some cooldown time when destroyed, but something needs to be done here.
What about like the freighters in GCII? If they were destroyed another one would just automatically appear, but you would lose income.
Yeah, you can Raze a settlement by opening up it's info card after researching Fortifications in the Training line of Warfare for Kingdoms or Warrior Castes in the Garrisons line for Empires. A new option appears "Raze Settlement" and it tears it down. Definitely nice for some of the more useless AI settlement placements.
Thanks for that. But why should anyone have to research "How to raze a city"? Lol
While I agree that ICS is bad in general, I don't agree that expansionism is bad. Fact is, a city is -always- beneficial (this game or other games) because ultimately, you will likely get far more out of it than what you put in. Expanding is something you -want- to do even if you're trying to stay small. Limiting empire size doesn't work because all it does is say "Stop expanding here"; you end up building just as far as you can go. And in certain
The question is, which is the evil "mirror universe" and which is real? https://forums.stardock.com/forum/511 https://forums.elementalgame.com/forum/511 If you log into one, your evil twin simultaneously logs into the other. But why are there more options in the seco
No, it works like citizens as a resource, you use them when they are allocated to a building, so your excess prestige gets used up either founding new cities or upgrading existing ones. You would still need some overhead for pop growth but heck that could be global as well.
Thank you, I rest my case. [e classic]:P[/e]
Most people realize that it's not as gratifying to play against an AI that "cheats". People want to be challenged based on the effectiveness of their strategy, not simply fight some mindless and artificially inflated horde. That takes the "I" out of "AI". Anyways, great work. It's not easy spending long hours fleshing out details to something that seems simple in concept.
City-Spam is alive and well in EWOM. Even though I don't like the expansionist strategy, I am quite picky about where to put a city, but the AI plops a city absolutely anywhere they can in the shortest amount of time possible. Any free resource on the map whether it's a crummy elemental shard or an extra food is deserving of a city in their opinion. The worst part of it is they don't optimize the city locations to cover multiple resources, they often have 2 or 3 cities covering a few resource
So I started a new map and the same thing happened. I never had the noble man's son join my party, I thought he was just invisible following me or something, lol. I am going to go ahead and put a link for my save in case anyone is interested. It's at the start of the map but no matter what I can't get the quest to work. http://solidfiles.com/d/0862/download/
So I decided to go ahead and give the game a try although I wanted to wait for another patch or so. I played a game for a few hours just to get the hang of things, now starting again on the same map. In both games when I get to a quest that says "escort the noble man's son", I can't finish it. I go to the estate but nothing happens. I played through the last game without figuring it out, and now here I am again stuck. Is there a way to cancel quests in progress at least
My friend and I have been waiting with anticipation for the community to start saying the game is fixed. I just don't want to waste my time and get tired of playing it before it's even finished. We are big fans of GCII and have sunk many hours into it. I think Stardock can bring something to the table that other companies cannot. Civ 5 turned out to be a highly polished sim-farm, it doesn't even come close to GCII. I am waiting for that kind of depth and customization in another game, hopeful
