"Lord Kael, the peasants dont have Elemental bread to eat" "Let them eat FE Cake" he he. But seriously, I do like Elemental itself, esp the graphics. My options for pizza topping would be flying and other types of units, Fortress walls that only Siege units could break, and shortcut keys for some tasks, like re-casting the same spell or destroying all those two dozen Monuments in the conquered Empire city without having to scroll down the menu each time.
Edit: I am not a big fan of RTS although i do make exceptions for a couple of games - Rise of Nations, Age of empires and Total Anihilation.
I havent played Rise of Nations, but played both AoE and AoE II, single player as well as on LAN. And Total Annihilation was my favorite, I even tried some mods recently (The Lost Legacy, Thalassen Campaign, etc). On SourceForge, there was even a "Full 3D" game using the TA Engine or TA Units.. and they had made the AI so g
The problem is that players who decree "no rush" are also the players who could reach late-game if they'd actually learn to play effectively - they're still going to get crushed in "no rush," particularly in a turn-based game where reflex is a non-issue, because they're still not actually good at playing effectively.
I had to respond to that!! Me was "unbeatable" in the Age of Empires LAN games.. one reason could be tha

After you successfully load the boat, the boat should have a "+" sign on its icon, when clicked it shows the troops loaded inside. Sometimes the troops just move into the same square as the boat but dont get "into" the boat, that time the boat wont have the plus sign. As for moving troops.. once I discovered "raise land" I havent bothered even researching the boat Tech. Takes forever for the boat to move around the peninsulas and onto the next "beach". I just make a land bridge with r

Playing 500+ turn games, mana is usually plentiful, and the enemy Sions have ridiculously high HP. That time Ive used "Greater Grip of Winter" which freezes the whole opposition army, then I can whittle down their HP with my 4-5 companies of Archers. The Sions are immune to magic like fireballs etc, including the normal "Grip of Winter".

I recall, multiplayer started with "Doom", though playing Doom gave me a headache.. havent touched another FPS since. The best multiplayer experience I had was with Age of Empires (both I and II) on a LAN. We were just 3 players, but we set rules that no one can attack until they reach the Imperial Age, that meant no initial rushing. In one game we were so evenly balanced we ran out of forest (forests were cut and the wood sold in exchange for gold/stone). The recent multiplayer game I tried

I usually play Kingdom, and usually dont attack until *late* into the game, giving the AI factions time to consolidate, and it does seem that the remaining AIs by turn 300+ are all Empire (Tarth, Umber, Altar) who have usually swallowed up the Kingdom factions. The Empire factions have an overpowered unit, Sion, which has a tremendous attack which caused me a lot of headache till I found that it was magical and having the magical immunity spell cancelled it out. Still, groups of 12 Elite

I hate rushing, so usually play a loooong game. Starting with Sovereign creation, I like to have all 4 spellbooks, Have the trait that gives +2 mana, Going to try a few other Sov combinations to see how it affects the starting. Dont want to waste turns in the beginning, so plunk my settlement down near the fertile land preferably on the first turn, then buy travelling boots so I can travel further during turns. Equip janusk with boots too, then scout just a bit to get the nearby goodies (luck

The current game says Year 321 or such, and season 650+, and the slowdowns between turns and OOM erros have become much more common. Sometimes game is saved as soon as I click, other times it takes quite a few seconds, and a few times (just after Autosave), it locks up solid, I have to use the power off button.. I was wondering whether my system isnt powerful enough anymore - it just had its 1st birthday. System Specs - Laptop, Core2Duo T6600 (2.2 GHz), 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD (

Great idea. At the moment the only way of advancing a Hero/Champ is to bring him along, decked out at least with armor, and while the Hero is out leveling up no bonuses to settlements. And at the moment a Hero provides only a particular bonus to the city, and the bonus cant be improved.

For posting a helpful suggestion, we can't begrudge him +4 points.. even 88 points should be enough. I like to keep at least 10 points for each stat, though lowering Int and a couple others shouldnt be harmful when all youre relying in is gold and hiring Champs.

Regarding movement points.. my Sovereign always has 1 more movement point than the spouse, cause she cant use the "JourneyMan" cape.. for 1.2 it should be remodeled to "JourneyPerson" cape so everyone has same movement..
Flying was taken out of the game because the engine doesn't support it.
During the tactical battles, the arrow "flies" towards the target, I think the flight looks ballistic, too.. so how come.. I *had* wondered about the lack of flying monsters (flying monsters would only be killed by arrows and magical attacks). So if the engine doesnt support flying, it wont be in the expansions as well?

I also agree. Currently playing Large map on ridiculous setting, other two factions that are near me are on 2000+ and 1600+ power level, and I am on 230 power level. Ive got just 6 champions with me, decked out in elementium armor and yithril bows (only my Sov has El Karazan), and they have been mowing down opponents. Come to think of it, even before I got elementium armor, I was able to take on squad of 9 armed with lord hammers, with my party of six champs decked out in plate armor. Only on

Best early attack weapon is the "Boar Spear" which you get at Level 2 city.. Played at "Ridiculous" mucho muy difficulty for the first time, wolves and spiders kept attacking my city, continuously, but.. after entering combat, I just escaped from combat and my fledgling settlement wasnt destroyed :-o (it *was* destroyed later when the pack contained a bandit, but by that time I had got boar spear and I reloaded a save, fought and defeated that pack instead of running).<

Distant Worlds was reviewed very highly (8/8) by "Out of Eight" reviewer (read that a couple months ago), then recently, googled it and watched the game video. Maybe I've been spoiled by 3D graphics.. but the ships fighting each other just didnt feel right without the 3D aspect of it (I just want to have the option of rotating the view, even though while playing Elemental I play the whole game from one point of view). Now that Distant Worlds has been a success (I think, quite a lot

Yep the UI and some minor (holding thumb and forefinger quarter inch apart) issues aside Elemental is quite enjoyable. Being somewhat lazy (prefer to work smarter, not harder) would like to have a shortcut key to repeat last spell cast, especially terraforming spells. Elemental also has a few eccentricities, like.. you order your Royal group to attack, and the focus immediately shifts to another group guarding a mine halfway across the map, like.. you suddenly hear the *crash cru

Just read the interview in the link, and browsed through the comments, so in the spirit of Community Service, posting a comment by "HisDivineOrder".. Q: "What did you think of Elemental at launch?" A: "Well, it has its problems. It was rough. Everything has problems, though, and the world is nothing but one big problems ground out there. And Stardock has plans. Plans and schemes. Schemes that look great! Great. ...I like Stardock. I used to play their games. Really." Q
