The Vive 2's front-facing camera is already a boon since you could wear it around and see where you were going.
Yeah I like this feature, it makes so much sense.
Did you end up getting one? Which batch?
I didn't pre-order as I'm still undecided as to Rift vs Vive, and I'm actually leaning towards Vive as I've read lots of good things about the upcoming revamped headset. I think it was a prudent move for them to hold back releasing to Apr to work on more improvements to the final product so I want to see what they come up with before making a decision.

I had to ask, since the Rift pre-orders are coming up, even though this genre of game probably doesn't lend itself well to the technology. Is SCR gonna have some sort of stereoscopic support? Planetary exploration or alien communications (Syreen, bowm-chicka-bowm) could be an awesome experience. Also as an informal poll, which of you founders out there is planning to get one of these? I know I am.
From a metagame standpoint, why would I ever want to make selfish decisions if I'm going to be stuck in a failed ending?
If there were epic cinematic endings or the like I would do this, just to see what would happen (check out the different outcomes). I like replaying, and I sometimes I like to be sadistic. But I'm a nice guy most of the time. Most of the time. [e digicons]:annoy
Hah - sounds like Bethesda needs to ditch the Gamebryo engine. It has REALLY started to show its age. The people hover across the terrain, the humans especially look so hideous, and did anyone else notice? You make your character looking in that mirror in the beginning of IV and he/she looks great! Modern graphics, even... yet once you get into the actual game and your character appears in dialogue? Is it just me, or does it all of a sudde

Winning or Losing a game should be subjective based on how you want to play. If I wanna be a saint then I should consider saving the universe and its inhabitants a Win, and destroying everyone and everything a Loss. Vice-versa if I wanna play the devil. The game should not force any type of morality by labeling any result good or bad, win or loss. I think we should look at it from a neutral perspective... every decision has an outcome, simple as that. Groups of

I gotta add a related footnote to this thread after having played FO4 pretty much everyday now since Nov 10 and I'm on my second play-through (yeah, I got no life)... But first let me say that there are No Spoilers here. This isn't so much an SCR issue, its just something I wanted to bring up to SD so they know to avoid it. So I've decided to give the Minutemen more love this time around and build up my settlements and such. And of course, answer the call of any sett

I'm on the fence with this one... while I agree delivery quests are usually unexciting, it does give a reason to travel between POIs for easy returns. I don't see the Galactica ever doing a mail run... but the Serenity, for sure.

I think we need to differentiate between random events vs random encounters, something that is pervasive to gameplay vs something that is in the moment. I don't think SC needs random events since an action/arcade like SC is all about events and things happening in the universe. I don't think I'll change what I'm doing because my engineers were 5% more efficient this month (I'd be questioning why they weren't more efficient all the time!) But I'

I'd like to see SD introduce foes with pilots of varying degrees of skill, all starting from the same baseline, but individually ranging from a newb to an elite, ie ship captains with varying experience. Unless you were the Mycon or Chmmr, it doesn't make sense that all your pilots were the same. Maybe some inexperienced pilots would just simply flee after taking a single hit. Or you'd encounter the more veteran pilots guarding points of interest or on battlefron
The problem with this attitude is that if you reserve judgment until you see the finalized planets, it'll be way too late. We need to talk about this right now if we want to have any chance at all of swaying Stardock from their current design. Staying passive solves nothing, given that there's something worth solving of course. I think a lot of you are missing the importance of the word "controversial" that I

...the ultimate defense and futile obstacle to try to overcome was the Slave Shield. That might be an interesting mechanic if it had some sort of weakness that first had to be dealt with (ie like taking out the generator on the Endor in some famous movie I saw somewhere...)
A boss fight in this game doesn't necessarily have to require the mothership. Early game bosses could be designed to be "picked apart" little by little by the ships the player is likely to have at that point in the game. I think at least a half dozen or so boss fights throughout the full game would be great, if they are well-designed and fun fights. The way the ships are so unique makes it kind of easy to design boss-type fights that p

Satellites can already show startlingly detailed footage from orbit (you could wave at the camera and it could be seen) - extending that to system wide for a sci-fi game that takes place in a much more technologically advanced future doesn't seem like much of a stretch.
