I honestly dont mind simply a "quick" alternative to the epic campaign with faster build-times and research times, where a multiplayer game between 4-9 people could take 4-6 hours before reaching a forgone conclusion (or people decided to erect a winner atop their bruised shoulders) as far as simultaneous turns (which I think is a must) either during battle-map human vs human, it "freezes" for the other people ... or a default ON option where all players get to see the

I suddenly feel like I want to play house with my royal family ... lets go on a picnic to slay the trolls! you can only bring blood relatives! Oh, and next in line successions in Tasunke-ville will be youngest daughter only ... unless by some strange occurance there are no daughters to succeed to the throne. In which case succesion will travel laterally to find the youngest female prospect with the closest blood-ties. If no such female exists, then the Imperial Dragon will act

In turn based games, in multiplayer, 75-90% of games will have AI. That 25 - 10% situations without in-game AI are when a large group of people together, or usually quicker games on smaller maps. saying only stardock/impulse and what-not hosting games does indeed off-place me somewhat, although only because using one massive server never really seems like a good idea to me, or rather its what I spend most of my multiplayer days to avoid doing. Never played Demigod, probab

My vote is for Camp #3. Seems to be the best format to influence city customization, but not force a specific job in a long assembly line. camp 1 seems like you could have all your eggs in all your baskets ... each city is completely self sufficient. camp 2 seems like you could end up creating supply line dead ends, and in general will restrict the units you create, and it seems less likely to have co-linear pathways (normal soldiers AND enhanced soldiers. While camp 3 ha

For a dragon, you could a- first have to kill a dragon b- find said dragon's egg c- have sufficient technology to require you to hatch said egg in its specific conditions, and then go about meeting those conditions. and finally ... raise the dragon yourself ... levelling it and letting it grow over time, probably an excessively arduos process. I actually came to this conclusion based upon my own desires, but on a very primitive "napkin map" battle, an enemy hero ha

aye, larger armies should have slightly greater visibilty, with added % bonus to visibility if it contains recon units whose specialty is vision and/or scouting. A giant eagle would probably have the highest bonus available for this, although I doubt such bonuses would should stack. If there were such complexities added to the game as day or night, or an added subteranean world, ect ... certain units would have bonuses below

I agree that I would rather see larger battles, and hopefully the power-level of potential enemies means you can recruit/conscript enough common, every-man dakka in order to fight said opponents. Fighting a Dragon? you will need 20 trebuchet batteries, 1500 archers, and some high level casters. perhaps another 1000 footmen for good measure.

[quote who="AIAndy" reply="4" id="2400406"]I still think a good cooldown based escaping system that is partially counterable would provide the necessary survival for both your heroes and your sovereign without resurrection. What I mean is a chess like subgame where if you want to kill the army, you move a more powerful army to that point but if you want to kill the hero or sovereign, you have to do more than that. That would allow the player to scout ahead and prevent moving into s

(dragons are static)-end quote. Are you sure? im fairly certain dragons would be able to level, albeit not regularly since a legendary dragon would require something akin to 1,000,000 exp in order to reach the next level. I have a pretty strong idea that dragons have two separate stat-gaining avenues. Age, and Level. Its easier to level the younger the dragon, although younger dragons are much weaker, so its a very large risk. I suppose you could look at my previous sugg

well, that turned out slightly different than expected. The notion I was trying to portray was that the more casualties an army takes, the greater the odds their king/ sovereign will route and flee. If the over-all might of the enemy Army B is greater than that of army A, and army A has suffered 50% or more losses, then the sovereign should have a chance to route/flee each time another unit either routes or is killed in combat. That percentage should grow with each successive loss of friendly

Aye, perhaps completely unrelated, but in the hopes of telling a story, ahem .... I would have a soldier that reconquered the heartland, and gave rise to high skill in commanding troops. This general then became mad with power and glory, and demanded that the heartland set sail to foreign lands in the hopes to capture and conquer. The old caste of leaders were hesitant to make such outlandish acts, and for the time being the country remained mostly isolationist, and stayed in

I did not know the uniform variation was missing in Empire: Total War. If they cut it out in order to include better AI coding (as I have heard empire AI is somewhat better?) then yay. however, if they only did so to cut costs .... then shame on them, tsk tsk.

[quote who="Chadeo" reply="41" id="2400909"] This also will depend on how unit stacking works out in the end. If there is no penalty to stacking units and no limits then you will probably just build lots of small units to stack into an army rather than build the same power single unit. This is because each turn you are getting real units to come into play allowing you to do something even if not at full power. While the person waiting on that 40 turn build can do nothing until it i

I guess I was trying to objectify that a knight to peasant ratio would be better off at a 50:1 ratio than a 10:1 or 20:1 ratio as suggested at other places in the post. Of course, its all about the gameplay, in the end. So a lowish number of 20:1 or 30:1 might need to be used.

If its a flying citadel, it should most likely either have A) a magical, gigantic beam cannon or B) constant magical storm overhead, flooding or burning most all it passes over. (massive rain and lightning, perhaps fireballs/meteors)

I will give some more varied creature ideas now that I have extrapolated on so many draconic imaginings. Griffons that live up in the mountains, noble creatures, usually keep to themselves. May be quests to help the griffons fight off a young wyrmling that is aggresively expanding into their territory. Trolls, trolls are a must in hills, foot hills, caves, and forests. Usually your average trolls has a weakness to fire and a slim regenerative ability. Tribes and armies of trol

I think the best name might be Wrath of Geddon. -full level electrical spell, granted to a channeler that researches the full electrical range, also available for Blue Archangels. *Archangel- A feathered Draconic mage, usually centuries old. Regal and scaly with feathered wings, looks like a being of divine graces. Some-times flies, but usually hovers over magical energies. Can channel, but only its specific element. So blue archanges = lightning, copper
