Get a spell book Get some new weaponry housing After that i tend to bounce back and forth depending on what costs what at any given

First off i have to say that the tone of the OP is seriously out of order. Don't do that, the devs are trying their best to listen to us and improve E:WOM so that it becomes what it should be. That being said though I have to agree with the OP on the fact that magic is taking a backseat in this game, and it shouldn't. This is elemental: war of magic. Not civ stuck in the medieval period, which, to be honest, is how it plays right now. It's fun, but it do

I tend to build parties around my dynasty. Start off with just my sov, add eventually his/her wife/husband. Add a thief and an any explorers I come across. Once my first child is of age I start doing the same with them, and so on. It gets you and your kids upto amazing levels of power and you dont have to pay upkeep for any exploring units. Also this way I can pretty much fight an entire war with nothing but one of my exploration parties. There's a caste

Thanks for that insight. It does feel at the moment that you have to be overly careful with gold. It's not impossible to have a balanced economy without the multipliers but I for one find it hard to have much of a military if I can't find a gold node or two. But that could just be because I build my cities big to the detriment of my war machine.... hmm I will have to look into it.

that's interesting to know. I imagine that this means we're meant to be able to support much larger armies than we're currently able to then? Which should in theory make warfare more interesting in both the strategic and tactical arenas. Seriously i'm lucky if i get more than a single stack army before late game right now. And the AI isn't fairing any better either.

Hi all, I've played a few games since the last patch went live. What I've come to notice is that the point you choose to expand past your first settlement is now critical. If you send out a pioneer to claim the area around a resource, by say turn 15, then you'll completely cripple yourself the moment you try any form of expansion. If however you wait, save your food and grow your capital to size 3/4, you can handle the monetary cost no problem, but by th

You need huts to increase the population cap of a settlment. You need as many as you need to reach the level you want the city to reach. It's based on alot of different factors so it's kind of hard to judge without knowing your exact research path.

All in all it's an amazing update. Stability needs fixing but what's new? The game is FUN now that's the main thing, and it should be more so once brad gets his AI updates in place.

Hello, Had a quick game of 1.09n, i've lost count of the ammount of times i've restarted to get used to the new changes (this is a good thing :)) but i've hit an issue. The first thing i do in a game is imbue janusk. SO I take janusk and my sov and we go attack a group of spiders. Now if I cast arcane arrow a spider takes 3 damage. If then after that janusk casts arcane arrow the game shows me that the spider takes 3 damage but the health on the unit card doesn

Necromancy. I know... I've just gotten back to reading replies after loosing interest in elemental for a while and now coming back to it with the 1.1 patch looming. Anyway the jewelry makes almost no difference at all. I was using it at the time to see if the amount of monsters was the cause or not, there's another picture of the same world that I posted where the entire map is pretty much completely saturated in monster pins. But anyway i'm sure you dev

I havn't read through the entire thread but here's my 2 cents on roads. You should buildup roads as they were built in reality. So: Roads should be created by your people and not by you. Stage 1: A citizen will automaticly start finding the best path to you nearest city as soon as it reaches size N. Prioritizing the closest city, then repeating as needed to build up your empire's road network. <

oh it's good to know that it's not just me getting low scores. I was expecting something on the scale of galciv 2 so i was shocked when i conquered every other civ on a large map and basicly had my area of influence covering the entire map that i only finished with 175 score.

It's true that all games have some sort of stability issue on some pc setups in the first week of launch, the devs just cant account for the massive variance in hardware that their game is expected to run on. However this is the only game i have ever seen where the memory leaks have been so bad as to throw an out of memory exception. I've seen games with leaks that eventually effect performance (dragon age) but this is by far the worst i've ever seen.
Oh noes, the horror. The thing is at some point the game company has to offer a service that's better then what you get when you pirate, otherwise you have very little intensive to pay up other then pure charity
That's not the point, they set their own standards and they should abide by them
And if you are going to claim the game is DRM free, the reviewed version of the game should actually be the DRM free version of the game.
The game isn't DRM free it just employs DRM in a more subtle way. Making you register your game to impulse in order to patch it rather than releasing patches as executables freely available to download is STILL being treated as potential criminal as far as i'm concerned.

Dont forget the i7 turbo boost technology where your clock speeds go up on two cores if only two cores are being used. Anyway you're not alone with terrible performance and mine IS a powerful rig. AMD Phenom II 965 BE 3.4Ghz Quad 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Corsair RAM ASUS ATI Radeon 5870 1024MB GPU ASUS Xonar 7.1 Surround Sound Windows 7 pro x64 And i run all my games from a small solid state HD...

It's all good news from the support side of things but the game really should've been at a state where there were only minor issues left. For the love of god fix the memory leaks and random crashes. Worry about balance when people can acctually PLAY your game.
