I think they should drop money so that you can help finance your empire through active adventuring - it adds another decision/element. The amount dropped just needs to be scaled back pretty dramatically.
The amount dropped is 1 gold per CR (combat rating?) of the army that you fight. 600 gold for a 600 army isn't a lot. most beasties in a stack with a cr of 600 can kill a hero in one hit and there goes all the hero

One way that Master of magic and Elemental differ in a huge way is the ability of the Sovereign to take the field and get killed. In MOM the Sovereign would just switch to another city if you took the city it was in. therefore you had to kill every city of a rival faction in order to win the game by warfare. so I mostly won by the master spell - spell of making. I wouldn't mind the succession system - it seems easy - but it would mean, under the present s

The messages that a group of adventures have opened a lair and released a bunch of monsters etc is a random even and I think that that sort of random even is fine within the boarders of a kingdom . but other than that i agree - i think the lairs in beta worked better. kill the lair and kill the source of the monsters - the lairs should re grow slowly in areas out side the kingdom - but not with in the kingdom. I like the idea of lairs getting bigger and then sp

In general i agree with the OP - i'm a bit sick of an automatic -4 because I happen to have smaller military force. All that leads to is a very shallow game which turns into a slug fest. It would make more sense to me as a person to befriend someone who is smaller than me and therefore is no threat to me. I am not sure how caravans work - is there a better bonus in tech or something for trading between different civilizations compared to a city in your own kingdom? if

I haven't played Gal Civ - I take what you are saying is there is a sliding scale to add more resources, more crystals etc - or what ever they are in gal civ. I could choose to generate a map with more gold, more food, more crystal or more shards? which would mean that all players had more not just the PC if i understand correctly - that would be good as it would make for different challenges in the game and enhance re-playability
Not all monster types should carry coin. Humanoid monsters I'd be fine with, but wolves and what not, should not be able to carry coin at all. Now in the early campaign there's a spider lair. If Monsters of all sorts had lairs from which they spawned, then I would suggest no monsters should have coin on them unless your Sov or army is assaulting a lair.
I'd agree with that - in Beta there were

I think that "Adventuring" has always paid well in all fantasy games. There simply is no better way to make huge amounts of cash than find monsters lairs and take their cash. I find this in all forms of fantasy game play. I remember in a pen and paper game of rolemaster many many years ago I once handed a bunch of NPC elvish refugees enough gold to build a new town. Elemental seems a lot like that. The wealth of an ancient civilization was scattered all over the

Hi all Just my 2 cents worth on the game a lot of which has already been said but as I say – it’s my 2 cents worth based on my experience of the game and others like it. The RPG aspect of the characters is one of the best things in the game. We should be able to make more of it and IMO the best way to do this is with a skill tree. Some heroes have a skill. Why not skill up all of them and make them individual. This could be done by addi

I'm not sure what it does. But I think it needs looking at, giving a Character a one time essence boost when they go to each town with a temple - or a one time boost on the first town with temple would be cool. but my poor Sovereign with 22 essence having kids with 500+ is a little off the mark. Thanks for the reply...

In version 1.7 - I have found that if i build a temple of essence and leave my children who can channel in a town with one (they start in the capital) - weird things happen to their Essence and Mana. I see it on the Sovereign - but not to the same extent. The temple says it doubles the essence – 10 essence - becomes 20 I assume (which means 20 mana as well). I thought that it might just be adding the mana bonus (10 in the above example) each turn I

Nothing like a bunch of heavy maces to put a crimp in a spell casters day. :) I also agree a hp roll per level would be a nice add for the Sovereign. or even just one hit point per level. Though I had a funny one the other day - I used some essence potions and then had kids and they had 120+ at level 1, essence each. Which left lots of points for con and hp. I'm going to see if it happens again in a new game. Though it was fun to see how the

last time i looked medikit was 5 extra health and 1 health Regen turn - a heal spells heals 5 points of health. I've never tried a mass Heal. Healing Magic really needs to be revamped and made more powerful. as do enchantments. you should be able to create a ring of regeneration to heal at least one on a minor ring and 2 or 3 on a greater. For a game about magic - magic is very under powered.

I agree -- how does metal armour defend against a lightning bolt? if magic has to overcome defence not resistance you are left with a system where magic is less effective than a dagger and Channellers are meant to have fought Titans and destroyed the world. 3 damage at a time? (Maybe Titans have a defence of Zero :)) it needs a re think as it's not fun and it makes no sense in the game mythology. there are no wizard units - chann

J ust messing around I added to my character History - making it a bit longer - when i loaded the game - I once again didn't have an Equip Button on the character page. So it may just have been that with the 2 skills The button was pushed off the page. As a long Character History does push the Equip Button off the page in 1.06. I'd post a screen shot but i have no idea how to add screenshots :)

I couldn't load my last save game with the new patch. So using the same character i started a new game and I do have an Equip button in the character screen this time. Pressing the E button still isn't working for me and there is no little shield button on the portrait to access the inventory. So maybe the last patch fixed it. I'll post again if it happens again.

Hi Chose a Sov with Merchant and Meditation skills - extra magic points and extra Gold. Problem is that when i go into the character page. No equip Button is present. On the heroes - who mostly only have one skill if any - there is an equip button. Some of my children have one skill and they have an equipmet button. but the children who also have Merchant and Meditation skills are also missing the equip (or is it equipment) button. T

Ranged combat has to be studied - then advanced ranged combat for the longbow. not sure on the exact path to take to get to them - but i've never had a problem - going for equipment - weapons - etc in no particular order until the bows come up.... sorry for not being more help - I think there is a flow chart of the progression of techs some where.

I agree in General. I expect games to have bugs when they are released it's a sad state of affairs but since the Internet allowed patching - companies just don't really polish things any more. So I have no problem with a few crashes etc. My major beef with the game, like a lot of people, is the magic. One of the good things about Master of Magic was the fact that you were in every battle and could always cast and turn the tide with magical power and skill... Maybe

I played a 850+ turn game with 2 crashes - about every 250 - 300 turns. - I enjoyed the game. it has a lot of potential. Personally i am a bit disappointed by magic. it seems to me that I can do my INT fire or lightning damage with lightning bolt or fire ball etc - as it all resists the same - why bother researching both or all three etc. I'd prefer a far more complex magical and resistance formula. I and a lot of others said so in the b
