Is there a way to remove the default unit designs? I mean i'd like to remove all except the pioneer and the militia. but really militia is up in the air tbh. I haven't dug into it yet but i'd like to force the player to create any units they want rather then giving them stock units out of the gate. Is this something that can done easily? i think this will make for a more interesting game as the player has more invested in the units they're building.

I absolutely hated steam back in the HL2 days, i bought the game and it forced me into steam and i hated it so much that i never played HL again. Fast forward a few years to Empire Total War, i bought it not knowing it required steam... but i am such a total war junkie i figured i'd try it anyway and not return the game. I'm glad i did because i loved that game lol But steam just worked and i didn't even notice i was playing through steam, i didn't have any of th

wow i haven't even thought about 688i in years, that was an awesome game. But Falcon 4.0 was one of the harder games i've played. I loved it and hated it at the same time... i tried toss bombing a billion times and think i hit my target once maybe twice and that was out of luck more so then any kind of skill. Even landing was a "cross your fingers, pray and just in case stick your head between your legs and kiss your a@@ goodbye" type of thing. So yeah that game made me frus

You know i've tried that game and so wanted to love it... but was never able to have any success at it, i apparently suck because i could never win a battle no matter how hard i tried. I'd take like three times more guy into a battle then my opponent would and i'd still lose. So after a while i just gave up trying and my interest in it just completely died after the seventh or eighth game. But i'll probably end up getting this one and trying again... But it'll

I'd be really concerned if i did understand why they did this. I mean to know why they did it and to actually understand why they did it are two very different things. I'd love to know why but to understand i'd have to put myself in there mindset and look at why they believe what they did and then actually look at everything from that point of view. In the process of doing so you yourself might become the very monster your trying to study. It happens more often then you might thin

When i copy the CoreAbilities.xml file to my mods folder i get duplicate entries int he game for pretty much everything. example would be putting your cursor over an ability and it printing the text in the tool tip twice. Also i'm not 100% sure but i think it's even doubling the benefit from the abilities. Any ideas on how i can resolve this? I'd rather not edit the original file if i can avoid it.

Set all the AIs to Challenging. Play. You and your friend will probably have a much nicer time. I'm playing at huge with World set to Hard and AI set to Challenging. On 0.8 AI still spams outposts and cities. Even more it forces dragons to leave their lair & wander which eventually leads

well with the randomized skills i wouldn't be surprised if you'd find it pretty evenly split. For me there are just certain things that i want and certain things i don't and since it's 100% luck based and well frankly i have bad luck lol. I like the path approach better just because there isn't any guessing or luck involved. Also for some reason i find heroes weaker now, maybe it's just me but they just don't seem to be as good as they have

I agree that acquiring heroes would be nicer if i couldn't tell when exactly i was going to get one. Also agree with the spear impaling multiple targets, i mean spears would have a bonus of some high damage attack or maybe even sweep and hit multiple targets directly in front of you. But to go through somebody and hit another target behind them is a little much for me. As far as the skill tree, i think that's far better then the randomized selection you

Ok so i bought Legendary Heroes last night and the first thing i did was go in and enable mods. Second thing i did was exit the game and add a massive map (12x8) and then added an Insane option for monsters. Both mods i've used in the normal FE since i learned it was simple xml files (god i love that lol ) So I fired it up and noticed both my options were available and i selected them (massive map size and insane mobs) But to my surprise the number of mobs were normal as if that c

There are a couple of different ways of handling the issue, but we may not be privy to all the information behind the curtain. But i do agree that the entire world does appear to be very one sided. However that doesn't mean that it's unbeatable, i've conquered civilizations that were much larger then me on several occasions. It is however annoying to capture a city and then have to spend the next 6 turns clearing the monsters out of the surrounding tiles before i

If you were short material doesn't it show anyway in the city "train" menu? You wont be able to select it and train them but if you put your cursor over it then it should say what material your missing. But if it's not there at all you might not have researched the proper tech to train the horsemen, if memory serves i've gotten horses before i've gotten horsemen and was able to custom design my "Light Cavalry" and build them. But i play a pretty modified game so it mig

Ok sounds like the majority agree that it comes down to tile placement, So what tiles do you want to look for on the different city types? Fortress and conclaves your good with a 4 on production and a 3 on essence? Towns are pretty much anything else? So a 3/4/2 would be a good fortress where a 3/3/3 would be a good conclave or even a fortress based on your play style? From the argument about production verse essence on the fortresses can't you add a hammer

What do you guys normally make your first city? I fortress, town or conclave? Or does it matter solely based on the tile in which it was built?

Ok i've been on this forum for about a week now, everyday (yeah i get bored a work, web dev isn't all that exciting at times). Now let me say that back on oct. 9th i bought a game (pre ordered actually) called XCOM:Enemy Unknown. Loved it, went to the forums. Now i haven't been a huge game forum guy my whole gaming life and wasn't sure what to expect. But i wasn't expecting that, it was a complete bash fest. Out of the hundreds of posts there is only one every once in a gr

I occasionally have this issue also, the no walking thing not the dialog lockup. But it's normally with a single unit that just kinda appears where i click rather then walk there. It normally fixes itself after a little a bit but i've been concerned that it might stay like that as it is a little annoying.

Personally i love steam and wouldn't have bought this game or probably even knew it existed if it wasn't for steam. I'm glad i did get it because it's an awesome game. But steam is also a new avenue of revenue for stardock that it might not have had otherwise.

Ok i'm about 300 turns into a game using your huge i rregular, i did change the water percentage from 65 to 55 (both min and max) just because i wanted more land then what it was set to. But i have no problems and everything runs perfectly. So great job and thanks again!
