I would definitely say Regulus is the easiest character to pick up on. Snipe and high damage range. What else could a n00b want? I would definitely say Erebus is harder to play now that he has been nerfed. Before, you could pretty much pick any skills (all of them use to be god-like) and just play. Now, you kinda need to have a build. Erebus is hard to track down, but once you get him, he is kinda squishy.
And 4. vindKtiv, get defensive if you wish. Obviously, I'm not lecturing "dedicated community members", because such community members would be interested in building the strength of the game's player-base. I'm bringing an expierence to light in hope of encouraging a friendlier atmosphere towards new players. If you think yourself so above contructive criticism, well hell go with it. Whatever floats your boat.
I'm not getting defensive.

I like the concept of form switching. It really makes Torch Bearer a different type of Demigod and it really raises the roof for what a good Demigod player can do with Torch Bearer. In my opinion, Torch Bearer is fine right now. Maybe some AA buffs to offset the overall uselessness of most spells overall in the late game, but that is about it.

I really enjoyed your writing on GC/2 and I was thinking about picking it up for less than $10 from GoG.com when they had a sale. Might be inclined to pick it up even though the sale ended now that you put up a good word for it and see how things are.
Unreal Tournament 3. Especially now that the forums have quited down recently and threads updated yesterday actually show on the first page. After reading your thread, I am pretty convinced that removing Pantheon (for the moment, maybe) and re-implementing Skirmish would be a great idea. I'm still not sure, however, what the people who play Pantheon only for the tournament aspect (and are not r

I'm kind of surprised at how you (who have admittedly played only single-player games and a handful of online games) have the ego to come up here and lecture some of the most dedicated community members.

Seeing all the players throw their hands up in frustration is pretty frustrating. I paid $40 for this shit and now you guys are leaving? Ehh whatever. Video games won't satisfy you for eternity.

It would be much less of a problem if it wasn't on a P2P system. The lag for me from when I click to when my character follows my click sometimes is as big as one second. I didn't know you could move TB while he was changing forms until I played in a AI match with another player in Pantheon because my commands would always lag.
Price Drop would do it. If I had my way, I'd basically give away Demigod with only a few demigods and then let people pay a low amount to get the full thing. However, can't really do that without really REALLY ticking off retail, I'll talk more about this in a minute.
Definitely one of the direction PC gaming is headed. With piracy as an issue, more success has been found by going with the pirates instead of against. I know League of Legends is doing this and I

Honestly, in my experience, the opposite is true. Maybe it is because I play n00b games, or maybe it is because I'm bad, but dying early is much better than dying late. If you die early, yes your opponent who knows how to play might have the tower down before you respawn. However, as you grow in level, you are going to take longer to respawn. If your opponent might have your lane's tower down before you respawn in the early game, he is definitely going to have that tower down in the mid to la
Quoting vindKtiv, reply 9I am highly against this. Right now in the bad system, choosing a side was a strategic decision. Allowing all sides to play all Demigod would have many players stacking on one side against another side which is going to lose horribly. I'm afraid I don't understand - how does removing the limitations on Demigods encourage Demigod stacking, particularly if the match up is random? As it stands now, you have a good ch
I think the Light / Dark mechanic should remain, however the restrictions on Demigods needs to be removed. As in Custom Match, any Demigod should be able to play on any side - it's up to the player to determine their own alignment - and any alignment should be able to play on the same side as any other alignment. So, at the start of a new Pantheon Epoch you pick which side your playing for this round, and off you go. Whatever alignmen

I haven't had time to check out the overlay out of beta (maybe this Saturday? PSATS :( ), but I have to say the overlays was a nothing less than a (demi)god-send when I used them.

The amount of players playing Demigod at anytime varies. I've seen 1.1k to around 2k from http://www.demigodthegame.com/opengames.asp. While Demigod certainly isn't healthy, it has long outlasted my predictions. Earlier forum goers might have remembered me predicting Demigod to be dead soon, but half a year later the game is still actively played witha dedicated community. The custom games server list certainly has shrunk, but that is easily attributable to less connectivity issues
Hm, well it's no wonder the players in games are slowly decreasing. It's the sum of all those small annoying things that still exist in Demigod, plus, more importantly game breaking bugs like the desync that (apparently) always happens when the announcer says "The Forces of X control the map!". A bug like that is really killing the motiviation to play for me . I really want to play, but what's the point if there is a high chance that the game will
