Seems to be moddable, so if Ironclad felt like working primarily on the engine and getting things 'roughly' reasonable and left balance fine-tuning to the players, it'd be more of a logistical problem (getting players to agree on what values should be what, for some 'standard' mod) instead of technical (as in inability to change things appropriately). I've seen this approach taken for other games.
Do you mean like a in-m

This is why they need diffrent chat/game rooms (or you can make it your self), that way you know what your getting in to Elrosh, i have to dissagree with you on that, because (my thinking) is that its a game, and games are s uppose to be fun, but if you focus too much on just winning (yes winning is defantly a fun multiplier in most cases) to the point that your not having fun, then you have just defeted the point of the ga

sometimes the best offence is a good defence, at least till you upgrade your ships enough that you know they are the best ships out there, if you let your enemy get the tech advantage, more ships just means more for your enemy to kill. Also it always helps to have repair abilitys in your fleets, i never leave home with out it. As for how fast your ships were taken out, wow, not even starbases with full figher support could have done that in 10 seconds, 20-30 secs,&nb

build up about 6-8 torpedo cruisers with your fleet, send them in, stay out of range of the starbase (press Alt to see its and every thing elses range) use your main fleet to screen your torpedo cruisers wile they pound the starbase. I think if it has the aux government, then yeah, you will have to take it out first, even if you blast the planets population to 0.

Yeah, i dont think the planets are scaled correctly with everything else, but its a good thing though, if they were, it would take an hour to get your fleet from one side of the planet to the other. then think about how big stars are.... wouldnt be that fun, they would have to make some kind of in system jump drive to make the game playable, and that would compleatly change the game. if the planets were scale, the fighers would be the size of new york city.

Heres my take on the SC/Carrier issue: First off, with the Cap carriers, I always thought that they should have a lot more firepower countering fighters, lots of flak wepons that out range anything else out there for flak, but on the other side, the fact that carriers are not ships of the line, but they should stay with the main fleet, because it would give lots of anti-SC coverage (or whatever group you want with the most cover, like your long range ships). Also, Cap carriers s
Quoting xploseve_12b, reply 9 Ha, no more droping craploads of mines on my starbases, advent. AoE damage will still affect them and you can tell a homing mine squadron to go somewhere, before they deploy (at last check...), so it just makes it more micro on the player's part.
yeah, but now they can fall pray to my fighers first, instead of flying 12 drone hosts up to my starbase
Quoting xploseve_12b, reply 5 Another thing i would like to see is the ability to take over a planet with out bombing the hell out of it, like an attrition army battle on the surface, dropped by seige ships (giving seige ships a good ability, and a reason to build them). The more troops you have on planet compared to your opponet the faster you take control (new planet upgrade, "garrison toops").&nbs

also I know for awile install programs on alot of games had a serch program the looked for known software copying and hack programs on them, if found it would pervent the install. I know that there are ways aound such security, but i think it should be looked at more to help stop pirated software from cerculating.

allow them to jump between stars when the first faction to research the ability is able to do so. The same for wormholes as well. also you can give them a clokeing ability as long as they are out side the grav well, allowing them to by pass systems they dont want to attack. but as soon as they enter the grave well, they would be visable. they would have to extend the distance outside a grav well ships are allowed to travel too i think. also this has nothin

I would also like to see them camping out in un-clamed or un-inhabitable grav wells, praying on trade ships and refinery ships, making you have to go out and hunt them down to protect your trade profits. And it would be cool if they would take over planets they manage to defeat or un-clamed astroids, and then building defenses like they have at thier own base. Then they would have more points on the map to generate raids from. Maybe they could even take over p
One word... Sporks. lol
Accualy, now that i thought about sporks, there is one, the tec robotics cruisers with the officive robots ability. build about 20 of those and send them in to raid a planet, they deal out damage and repair themselvs all at the same time. hence both a "spoon" and a "fork"

It would be cool if tec had a reserch ablilty that would allow you to buy off bounty aginst you. ie, using credits to lower your own bounty lower than the rest of the players, at eather the same rate of creadets or more. this would be in effect buying bounty on other players at the same time with out letting other factions getting it when they distory each others stuff. I say this cause the other factions have research dealing with pirates or bounty. The

Void matter mines. that would be awsome. when a ship would have other wise been distroyed by the mine, instead of blowing up, it would just dissapear... would have been really nice for the Vasari (you know, uber wierd tec for the uber wieard aliens)

32 Replies 145,728 Views

another thing, IA wont level up its caps by buying (up to level 4) levels, it would be nice if it did, and it seems to me that after a big loss, wile it will build up on its smaller ships quite extinsevly, it figures that only one or two level one cap ships is enugh before it attacks again.
In all fairness, though, I am incredibly happy with this game and think it is one of the best designed and balanced game I have played, pretty much ever. No game is going to make absolutely everyone completely happy, though. All I'm doing is adding my two cents worth and seeing what kind of response I get.
hey, these are great debates, in which players get to though in all there 2 cents (and hopfully geting a few bucks worth out of it) were the devs get to see what the

Yes, for the most part, each and every game you play on sins IS a campaign. YOU are the faction leader, you dont need somone telling you what to do, you are the one telling every one else what to do, deciding what kind of relationship your going to have with other factions, how and where to expand your empire, making your plan to take everything else under your control. You make your own objectives, having someone else telling you what and where to go and do would take a
