Yes, I definitely would like to see the size of the tac battle field, and the forces deployed in them, significantly increased. I would also like real terrain, hills, roads, forests, etc. , fog of war, high ground with advantages (combat str, line of sight), and of course, all the other fixes many have discussed on the forums. yes, to epic battles!

Random_target>>> You want your cities to produce something? Location, location, location. I do agree that terrains should have differences between them. But the differences should be in other directions and not economic benefits. Some suggestions include: - Swamps and forests spawn different types of creatures. - Defensive bonuses to the units in certain tiles. - Different combat zones with different view and tactical value.
G;lowing ember wrote: oddly enough i rushed into 12 man squads. I was surprised how even the staff and club they start off with is effective when there are so many of them. Regenerating hit points takes a loonnnng time after a battle so that is my only current complaint on the game. It was refreshing being able to absorb a 100 point hit and dish out more damage instead of dieing lol. (hunting monsters with them). Peasent mobs. Gotta love it. no
I may not agree with everything kael's team did regarding use of other peoples' intellectual property in his days modding civ4, specifically, FfH2, (and the first one). However, I still recognize what an awesome mod his team created for civ4. I downloaded FfH before it had manual, when every few weeks (or was it months... lol) a new version of the mod was released. Patch t, and u, and v. Sometimes a 'new' version would do really strange things. The journe
I agree with #3 Higher chrisma translates into higher morale. There is a story about a roman general (Caesar Augustus, think think) who rallied his army with funny stories and one visual prop: a pickle. His troops won the battle. Now that's charisma. No I'm not suggesting a 'pickle' resource tile be added.
I use raise, lower land all the time. My city out of space, cramped between a mountain and the sea? OK, raise land seaward, and lower land mountain side. Have two important cities separated by mountains. lower land yourself to make a pass. have annoying neighbors, but you aren't ready to conquer them? raise land to mountains and close off the passage. Blistering sand to wipe forests with the monsters in them? Cool, never thought of that. T

Now this thread is, well, a wonderful read. You all had me in stitches... and now the thread has come undone. LOL. BTW, what is soft porn? I thought it had to be 'hard?' Did i miss something by NOT going to PR school?
spider solitaire? whats that? can I play/
I hope they do fix this 'glitch.' and then, i hope (mostly for multiplayer) that they come up with a way for assassin s to actually try and use stealth and target a particular npc.
My cities have names that consist (mostly) of letters that indicate not only the primary (largest) resource, but also the next highest. I would love to give them 'real' names. But, as has been pointed out,the level up screen is forced at a particular time. A question for the number crunchers: I have noticed that sometimes, when i conquer a settlement, it has an arcane of 2, etc. Does leveling up and favoring a resource of "1" actually add
Yes, Charon, your avatar is working. (That assumes the one I see IS the one you intend?) SMILE LOL
I went to see Inception Saturday evening. Solo, but the cinema is a two miute walk from my apartment. Tickets are 3 to 5 dollars - depending on age, status. Was very well done. And like all well crafted stories, the title actually has a double meaning. The end of the movie just leaves you spinning, not sure ,,, If you like movies that explore what it is to be human, this is a must see. I usually lke romantic comedes.. so go figure. (it wa
I feel the beat for 1.1 should be an option for all current owners of a license to run 1.09 (or 1.09E). However, I think the SD team should also give us some guidence, at various points, about what they wish us to test, how to report it, etc. I have no problem with the design team saying to me. Set up the game this way, with test this set of options, check on these things.
Given, logically and statistically, life, imcluding 'intelligent' life has/does/will occur 'g-zillions' (smile) of times. The question then becomes, why no ongoing, demonistrative and repeatable, fully public contact with humans? 1) They can't. (light speed, hibernation / generation ships, etc) 2) They won't (hey, the ufos humans see are teen-aliens out joyriding - and violating the 'reservation' we humans are on - for o
My two cents; the age of kin is (currently) a non-game function. Age has no bearing (at this time) on anything, except being old enough for an arranged dynastic marriage. What if things were modified to cause aging. Then consider what effects should aging have? Do older kin start having decreased physical attributes? How does it affect IQ/wis/manna? Combat speed? Do female kin stop having babies at menopause age? Does age eventually lead to seni
Awesome... just awesome
I have been a civ fan since civ 1 (which was just called civ, I believe). My fav is BTS, with the FallfromHeaven mod. Wyre's (and fall of Civ) is second place in the civ series. I have not played civ 5, and probably won't. The discussions on many forums suggests that Civ 5 is a dumbed down version of Civ. Do you feel the same way? I really want to know from someone who is both articulate and has played it. You are both. BTW, I was intrigued
I find myself torn in two. To "win" you have to 'conquer' the universe (World), etc. However, i elos enjoy building, creating, etc. Sometimes, it is fun to juts look at how my people have changed the face of EWoM's current world. Very early, walking down those unexplored valleys is a journey, and fun. I wish the game had more ot that in it. But it is, in the final analysis, a 4X, and conquering (forging alliances, etc) is part of it.
Thank you all for helping me understand "what it means to us." Basically, a 64 bit OS will allow the user to use programs that address more than 2 GIG of ram. When this OS is installed on a PC that actually has 2+ Gig ram, the applications have the POSSIBILITY of using the extra ram. That means your application (GAMES, I'm retired, and have no use, anymore, for outlook, scheduler, etc. LOL) can run bigger, faster, etc. (assuming the hardware, and OS is there.), IF th

These ideas of differing magic defenses, etc sound vey intriguing. What do you think about adding a "zone" around developed shards that give the owner (of the developed shard) 'enhanced' use of the shards magic type when the magic user is within that zone? I also hope that SD allows all these attributes, strengths, weaknesses, etc., to be 'adjusted 'via a user customize this world build of EWoM. They go to all the trouble to code this. Why not also, wh
Hi Jybil, What is the did between 32 bit and 64 bit. I think windows has both vwersions. What does it mean for gaming? Are they processor specific, or software (windows) specific? Thanks
mandelik> I can't see any relationship between the world being barren and the number of resources. Antarctica and most deserts on Earth are barren but are full of mineral and energy resources (and even archeological. Good for Old Libraries and such). A "barren world" for our game should be more in relation with human population, vegetal density and
Brad, I would be very happy to help with the betas. And if your design / implementation team has specific areas they wish tested, etc. Let me know and i will focus on that.
