What's wrong with huge maps? They're great fun. I used to be a prominent scenario designer for Empire Earth and when you made a map, it was normally limited to a maximum size of 400 squares by 400 squares, but I found a glitch that made it possible for massive 800x400 maps. Man, that was an epic game...

@ Malakie Do you realise how stupid what you just said was? You're complaining about having to go somewhere else to get the patch since you might not have internet, and somehow this is related to DRM (apparently)... But the question is, how would you get a patch if not through the internet? [e digicons]O:)[/e] Hmm, maybe you could drive two hours to the store and buy the patch in expansion form like some other less reputable c

Yeah, on long games where I have way more resources than I can use, I usually build 4 fully upgraded starbases on all the stars. (Including other people's stars if they don't notice! [e digicons]^_^[/e] )
But in respect to being a good commander, when a territory is invaded, particularly before modern technology, there is plenty of time to consider a proper reaction. You can't just jump from the outskirts of a country to it's capitol in a mere moment or two. War can be (and historically has been) a slow business. It doesn't make it any less threatening or urgent.
You should also look into providing the ability for advent scouts to capture neutral resource stations as in terms of this ability the Vasari have a large advantage over other races. Perhaps offering the ability as a technology may be an option. Or perhaps providing the advent scout with a speed boost ability to increase it's survivability, which would also differentiate the races and provide incentive to choosing advent over vesari.
What are you talking abo

One book I had been reading, "Brass Man," had an interesting way of putting it. Eventually, AI was developed, and then it took over in what was called The Quiet War due to the fact that nobody noticed it happening till it already happened. They took all the important places, and due to their efficiency everybody was really comfortable, had machines doing their job, so when other humans tried to take control back with revolutions, nobody else wanted to. It's hard to have a rebellion wh

I know how to make wormhole connections in Galaxy Forge, if not between star systems, but I was wondering what would happen if you connected two regular planets with a wormhole lane thing? Would they have instant travel, or would it cause a bug and not run?

The way I see this subject, is that in a lot of cases, it's not piracy really. They download a program, yes, but it comes down to whether or not they deprive the makers of it of any profit, which is what the laws come down to, and say the person wouldn't have bought the program anyways, then downloading it does not deprive the makers of any of their money.
