Hi. This mainly goes out to the developers really. I understand this game doesn't currently support Dual-Core. If I have a huge fleet, and so do my 4 other friends or AI, my game generally starts getting a little choppy. I also understand that the eagily awaited patch, 1.03, will not have any huge engine improvements or anything. However, I was wondering if there was a ever a posibility that dual-core support might be added to the engine at somepoint, thus speeding up us slow

Yea, I understand. That's kind of what I was trying to get accross, but im not much of a writer im afraid. However, I'll worry about that after I've made the map. Going to use the original map as a trace image, so it should be fairly accurate im hoping :). Screenshots coming soon :). P.S. Oh... and if anyone knows any particular details about any of the planets that might be useful, please let me know. I.E Are any of the planets particularly rich? Any loo
May need to activate some native DLL's. I tried it on .56 last nite and it seemed to run ok. But I didn't try logging on to ICO.
A few other points to make about producing this map (by hand, so I can layout the planet in their correct positions), is: 1. Some of the names of the planets are insanely hard to read from that map!!!! 2. Phase Lanes - I know not of the progression of the TV series and in which order they discover or went to these planets, or how the planets are linked in any way. I guess I would have to just "make-up" the phase lanes as I went along, unless I just connected ALL the planets to
I love games that go on for 10's of hours. U get that "slow burn, chip away" kind of feel to them. Also, even if you lose one big fight, you have SOOO might time to build up and fight back again. Its never over. As soon as I've made any sort of progress on the map (or spoken to the guy whos already aparently started) i'll drop you guys a line in here. I think I'm going to do it in 4 sizeable chunks to start with. Then see what happens if you combine it all together. Might end u
Thats not a bad idea. Going to see my mate tommorow and see how we get along. Cheers everyone for their constructive thoughts.... Apart from that one guy, of course. God knows what "truth" he's talking about. I think he's ill... Nevermind, just ignore them and they go away aparently. Cheers again guys. Keep your thoughts and concerns coming!
I REALLY dont get why hes evening mentioning Mods!!! He's the only one that has this entire thread! Its mad!! Bloody trolls. And by repeating, I meant because you keep saying that you wont play "My Mod", whatever that is, for a few years yet. Jeeesus you suck as a person.
[quote]Haha! You obviously know me not. I am the clan leader of MAGOG (Military Alliance of GOG) (www.magogclan.com website will be updated soon for SINS). If you do not know me yet, you will.I've been posting on the forums over at World in Conflict (massgate.net) for 6 months. The same kind of trolls tried to run me off at the beginning, but in the end I won. This is because I speak the truth, and nothing but the truth. If you can't handle it then you will have to learn how.I'm also on the side
[quote]I do speak for myself.Don't be offended. Like I said, I will try your Star Trek mod in about 3 years. In the mean time, I'm going to enjoy the ACTUAL game online first.I just think it's a rude "slap in the face" to the game developers to speak of mods so soon. They made Mods possible to appease those who are dissatisfied with the actual game, or for those who become bored with the actual game. GOOD GRIEF! You haven't even gave the actual game a chance yet. I just think it's rude. I certainl
Lol. Cheers for the backup guys. I hate ppl like that. They come along and just talk crap thats completely off topic, without even reading what I posted. Yes, I adjusted the thread title, but more as a mockery of Kruelgor the Great (which he hadn't even realised was why I changed it), and to hopefully stop more d**ks from coming here and p***ing everyone off. Just had a quick chat with my friend - we're gona start work on a SECTION of the map (not the entire thing) to start with, see h
For a start... I never used the word MOD. I love the game as it is, Races, Units, everything. I HATE Star Trek and Star Wars... I would just love to see a MAP that big and that detailed. READ stuff before being a t**t. (Thats aimed towards the first reply, not anyone else. I love everyone else... they're not T**TS.)
http://www.geek4ums.com/geekstirbackup/trekmap2.jpg This link above is a map of the entire Star Trek space. I was wondering if anyone was going to tackle this as a possible map for Sins?
Im going to experiment getting Sins to work under the latest Wine for Ubuntu 7.10 (Which I assume will be one of the more popular ones. Hopefully I can post any of my findings on here. I will also try Cedega (with latest patches) and see how I get on. I kinda wish there was a native Linux version, but being built on DirectX, I assume this would be hard to implement, and with Ironclad being a smaller company, I doubt they have the resources. Cheers for an aweso
