Agian, It's true diffrent isn't always better, but so far, in this case, it is. The truth is, had I not bought Demigod last year when I first heard about it, I probably wouldnt have bought it at all. NO OFFENSE DEMIGOD, but there are a lot of amazing looking games that are coming out, many sequals that I've played, and I would deffinetlly have just saved my money for those. Now, I know I would have been stupid. Demigod is a great new and diffrent kind of game, and th

No, I agree, games can get dangerously mixed if to many things are put in, and for the most part things will either go wrong, or they don't turn out as well as they should have. What I'm saying here is that the more I look at it the more it seems less and less like it should be in either of the genres. My point is, right now they aren't mixing. At first thats what it felt like. But now Demigod is something completely diffrent. The only game I can think of that
Well I think it should have a new name, the genre, one that not only describes it, but one day opens the door to more games like it, so, I looked up things that sounded like things that would describe this game. The first thing I thought was heros, because that is how Warcraft 3 described them, not to mention if you go here http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/hero the definition of hero actually includes Demigod. So why don't we say
Sorry about the wierd stuff at the top of my last post, just ignore it.
Now wait a second, you're all talking as if this is a bad thing. I, personally, think it's great. The fact that Demigod is really a whole new genre, it's amazing. It just bug bugs me about how they keep saying it's an RTS, which it's not. Actually, what I really would like to see this topic turn into is not a discussion about which it is, but a discussion about what it is. Right now there are a lot
This has been bugging me for some time now. I don't think it's really fair to say that demigod is an RTS with an RPG feel, I think thats backwards, at least right now. What I feel when I play Demigod is more like I'm playing Dungeon siege with better graphics, and more replay value, among other things (not saying DS is a bad game, I loved it, just Demigod is better). It's true it plays a lot like Warcraft 3s DOTAs, and of course it should; but the truth is, I, so far havent felt like I was pl
I'm having a little trouble with the story right now, and that is really my only problem, except I would like to see a a little more about those achievment points (the one used to buy special items ).[e digicons]:P[/e] So far the way things are put the demigods are fighting each other to become the ONE dominent god, or at least to ascend to "The pantheon of gods." Maybe it's because I only play team matches, but this game feals like a team game, not a one on one kind of
It's true it could be that, but that is of course not the point, we shouldnt have to move around to cast again or open the shop, so if you have problems with other actions, like castings failing, or shops not opening, or whatever related to clicking, you can post them here and we can see if it's just TB problem or a problem with the code for clicking in general.
It's true, it was just more noticable with fireball, although his other targeting power worked fine for all i could tell (Deep Freeze). It just seemed worse on fireball, but all i know is it's really annoying.
I've had a problem with shooting fireball as TB(duh). When I try to use it and I click on the enemy demigod, it doesnt do it. It's angered me a few times when I want to kill a Demigod with low health and I try again and again and again to get the fireball to activate; it never does, even when I have a clear shot.
No it was just an HD sound port that wasn't being used, my computer just bugged up, and it was the basic sound card, it wasnt a demigod thing, it was a computer thing, no0w that i fixed it demigod, and all my other games run fine now.
sorry, I ended up finding and fixing the problem. It was wierd (if you don't care you can stop reading now) there was some hi def sound service running that for some reason forced one of my processors to run at 100% use all the time, so I was running the computer at half processing power or less. Happily it has been fixed and Demigod plays like a dream.
No that isn't the problem, I've got plenty of ram and it's not being used by vista.
All my drivers are completey up to date.
No it lags terribly from the start, even in the opening sequence and in the main menu. It's slow to loading and it sounds lag behind the button clicks, the game, even with AI is bad. As for my internet connection, it usually runs top notch, it's a high quality connection.
I just got a newish computer a little while ago. It's not that old, newer then my friend's (who can play demigod) and it's lagging horriably when I'm trying to play Demigod, which sucks because I can't even really enjoy it. The specs are: Windows vista Ultimate AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.00 GB Ram ATI Radeon HD 3800 series (The 3850, to be exact) So, does anyone think they can help me?
When I try to start Demigod, I get this error: C:\work\forge\beta\code\src\core\SndMain.cpp:line 219: mEventSystem->init(NUM_VIRTUAL_CHANNELS, FMOD_INIT_NORMAL, 0) failed: A call to a standard soundcard driver failed, which could possibly mean a bug in the driver or resources were missing or exhausted. This is awsome, I can't wait for Thursday, this game just keeps getting better and better all the time.
It happened a few times. I would bring up a tower in front of me, and then when a basic meele unit or units would attack the tower, I would swing my arm to attack them (basic Rook Attack) and the arm would pass through the tower and hit the enemies, but the tower seemed to take damage, way more then it should of from enemy at the time anyway.
What I think would be really cool is, instead of cluddering the field with barricks or spawn points is you go to the portal and puchase your units there and then gain powers that will help you control the battelfield, like creating walls that let your creeps through but maybe also let you garrison your archers along it, or something to that manner. I would like to see ways to improve both your controlled creeps and the normal AI creeps (going along side yours, complete control is a no) Stuf l
The problem is not that, I of course expected something like that, and at first attributed to how the code had been rewritten, but as time went on, this damage thing with both Rook and the towers was just to much. Yes the towers fell down after 45 secounds, but most of the ones near the enemy base wouldn't last that long, not to mention it seemed as if when i hit an enemy through the tower, it would get damaged but agina I thought that was how the code was written.
That might be it, but it only seemed to be in one place, and I did not have thorn, plus I wasn't directlly fighting the unclean beast, I'll check agian to see if it happens, although it's only happened near the dark enemies base on the waterfall map, but I'll run through it a few more times.
When playing as Rook, I would often Pull up a tower of light. the porblem is that my towers would kind of loose health and die randomly, sometinmes a weak enemy would attack it with full health, then it would suddenly die. I'm not sure what it was, though I get the idea it has something to do with the fact that when I was attacking the enemy base, I pulled out of the attack to head back for some potions, and suddenly my health started dropping drastically fast, and it happened a few times, al
The point is, it's just another way to use Rook's overpowered abilities to their best. He's just built to defeat his enemies, and with the items in the shops he basically becomes too strong, compared to the others.
Yah but you can pick up an item that alows for unlimited warps in a small area around you, with a small cooldown time. With Rook, you just rip people apart, you rip the enemies apart, and more importantly, you demolish the enemy base.
