My idea for limiting a demo version would be to allow them only a certain number of games per day (say 1 or 2). This way the demo players wont overload the system like they may if you (for example) let them play 4 demigods, or let them play without artifacts. (I would personally consider just sticking with the demo if it let me have 4 demigods without further restriction) Also this way they get the full experience of the game. This is obviously something
Always get spit when available. Get post mortem as soon as it becomes available, since it will massively help you farm creep. I like to pump inner beast and enchanced attributes otherwise. Ooze I find to be to weak to bother with. Foul grasp can be ok, depending on who you are fighting. bestial wrath isnt enugh bonus for my liking. diseased claws I dont usually bother with, since a good player will avoid being hit in the first pla
Well that's great. I just saw update, clicked it thinking it was an actual update, and now I find out it's a beta patch? So do I HAVE to uninstall and reinstall demigod
Oh it gets better than that. If you uninstall and uncheck the box, when you install again you still get the beta.
I also have xp 64 and it runs fine.
I upgraded to the beta version to try it out, and there are hardly anyone using it and I cant find a game, so I thought Id try and revert to the previous version. So I uninstalled, unchecked the "Show pre-release versions" and reinstalled, but it reinstalled the beta again. Is there any way to go back, or am I stuck until the next version comes out?
For as long as there are people playing a game who can't accept their own failures for a lost game, there will always be the cry of OPness
Some losses are just unavoidable. depending on map/DG's and opponent strength, sometimes you're knackered right from the start and it no failure of your own play. Some DG/builds/maps are just unbeatable if your opponent plays beyond a certain skill level. Ive had games I've lost, and while
Wait till you play erebus with someone who knows how to play him (for those who are saying he's not so hard to kill).
Pretty much impossible to find a non-pirate game which has decent ping.
Im afraid I have to agree with the OP. I usually play UB, and have played probably about 50 matches and usually score best for our side. I consider myself a pretty good player. Yet against someone who plays erebus well, I have no chance against someone 3 levels below me with less gold (ie loss items). You can argue I dont know how to play well, but I dont buy that. You can argue its not about 1 vs 1, but 80% of the time it is. Maybe theres some trick I should be
I wouldnt have just pirated this game if it had invasive DRM on it. Apart from making a stand, I dont want that DRM crap infecting my computer and thats why I would download a cracked version. I dont think invasive DRM makes much difference to piracy. Someone will crack it in a day or two and repackage it up for an easy to download and install file. I must day I find it entertaining to see someone advocating DRM though on a game forum.
I dont regret buying it. Im confident they will eventually get the net problems sorted, and they wont just abandon us (like so many other publishers)
Devs have far more important things to do with their time than to cater for a few oddballs who find female nudity in a game offensive. As spock said in Startrek, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
I run XP 64 bit and the game runs perfectly. It has never crashed. I believe the problem is with your machine/installation. If you're running an AMD processor, try loading the amd processor driver and the dual core optimizer. http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/drivers.aspx
The OP is obviously in the minority (probably of 1). Id suggest the devs have obviously got far more important things to do than catering for the (IMO ridiculus) views of 1 person, and besides Im sure theres far more people (including myself) who thinks her current model is quite good and wouldnt want a change. So in short, if you dont like it, dont play the game. Dont come in here expecting the rest of the world to cater to your eccentricities. </
About 1/3 of the games I join fail to start. 2/3 work fine. If I played for 3 hours, I would probably lose about 15 minutes on failed game launches at most. Maybe the game is not working so we for some of you out there, and thats almost certainly a result of an incorrectly configured firewall/router, or an ISP that throttles or restricts p2p traffic. The game isnt that bad now. If you cant connect it not Stardock's or GPG's fault.
1 player can always drag down the team and feed gold to the enemy, but in domination you can offset that to a large extent by top play yourself. You can have a poor player feeding the enemy gold, yet still be ahead through good play by the other members. When its just number of kills, theres absolutely nothing the teammembers can do if soneone just feeds the enemy 20 kills. Sucks when your side is winning the match (despiute the gold he's feeding them), but 1 player jus
Ive lost so many times because just 1 person on the team just dies repeatedly, and often in what would otherwise be winning situations. This may be ok with aranged teams, but not in pantheon where you get grouped with anyone.
Keeping this bumped because people need to know about this.
This seems like a better alternative to hamanchi, and doesnt have the problems of networks getting full and having to kick people, or having to have multiple different networks. All the games are listed in 1 place.
Having worked in the IT industry, I know all too well how management like to set deadlines for everything and have it all planned out ahead of time, down to the day. This is something I had to work with as a programmer, and when you're talking commercial software you have the extra work of fixing whatever problems a buggy program will inclict on its database. One paticularly bad company I worked for had me spending 3/4 of my day just fixing databases where if they had w
I also run with an 8800GT, 4gb ram, Athlon 6000+ dual core, and am using windows XP 64 bit. The game runs perfectly fine with all settings at max. Sounds like something strange is happenng on your PC. All I can suggest is the usual stuff, make sure you have the latest nvidia drivers (182.50), get the latest directx from microsoft (www.microsoft.com/directx), and install all the windows patches (windowsupdate.microsoft.com). Ive played quite a few game of pantheon and had some games where ive supposedly scored almost 200 favor points, but they arnt accumulating for buying favor items, and it shows me as having 25 favor on the rankings. Am I missing something? (besides favor)
The game is passable in multiplayer IMO. A lot of games dont connect properly, but quite a lot do too. If I had to choose again I would buy it and put up with the inconvieniences because its not *that* bad, at least not for me so far, and it is heaps of fun.
Kryo, I think that what he is experiencing is this: I was replying to blimstud, not the OP, sorry if it was unclear. The "poison pill" users who can't connect or be connected to in matchmaking are a known issue. We're looking at giving hosts some options to address those so they don't kill matches before they start.
Theres an option that usually shows up which allows you to kick poison players, but i
