Hello peeps. Gots me 'nother new issue. Seems like every time I get one resolved, another new one pops it's ugly head up out of the proverbial ground. Anyways...I can't get past the loading screen anymore. The background music plays while loading. I wait 5 to 6 minutes, and the in-game music kicks in. But instead of the game screen popping up moments later (as it used to) the loading screen stays put. I've even tried waiting up to 20 minutes, to allow for some s

Well, I play as "Evil" so all my SB upgrades are free. And by the time I start dumping out constructors by the hundreds (to max out my 75 SBs) I'm usually pulling in 25,000 BC or more per turn. And actually, I've never had a maxed out SB get wiped by any size fleet. In fact, I recently ran a turn where I had a 62/62 Military SB bombarded (and survived) by 7 heavy fleets spread between 3 races. When I'm at war with 4 or 5 races at once, maxed out SBs work great for me to diminish enemy fleets

Ok, I can't seem to figure this one out... I'm trying to create my own GC:DA referrence guide (for personal in-game use). And I've stumbled into the fact that there's some really bad math going on with my starbase upgrading. First Issue: I send in a constructor to upgrade. The upgrade screen lists "Overlord Armor +16" "Invulnerability Bloom +16" and "Electro-Magnetic Surge +16" -If I select any given one, then single-click on the SB in question, it indicat

BTW, sorry, I forgot to mention that yes, a save and reload does clear the problem, but only for a very short period of time.

If that is a straight 250 turn playing session, it might help to save the game, exit and reload the game. It will take a little less memory when freshly loaded. I've tried that many times Moosetek13. But in fact, loading a saved gamed seems to only amplify the problem. I have 1 GB Phys. memory, and 3 GB Virtual. But as you suggest, I'm gonna pick up a 1 GB stick and throw it in there soon, hopefully that will do at least a little something.

First of all, my game settings are as follows: Vs. 9 Races - 8 Minor Races - Tough Difficulty - Gigantic Galaxy All Set At "Abundant", with "Loose Clusters" or "Scattered" I play as Terrans, heavily focused on Tech & Diplomacy Game runs fine for a few hundred turns. However, about 250+ turns in my game becomes a little slow, and gradually progresses to become agonizingly slow. I expect some of that. As races expand and things get more complex, clicking TU

DL & DA ran flawless (aside from rare crashes to desktop) until about Ver. 1.5x That's when I started to notice in-game graphical artifacts, and progressive in-game graphical failure. I now often foresee a crash to desktop, becuase one the following starts to occur: 1) Columns of planetary tiles begin turning white. This includes during planetary views, and the spy placement window, as well as in the planetary tiles view of the invasion screen during ground combat. It ALWAYS starts wi

52 miles of travel (one way), 17 retailers, and only 6 of them that had Dark Avatar. Not only that, all 6 had ONLY the GOLD EDITION. Thing is, I already own the Dread Lords Collector's Edition. Loss of patience led me to just go ahead and buy Gold Edition. That said, it brought up several questions for me... 1) Do I have to wipe out my Collector's Ed. install, or will Gold Ed. detect it, and simply update it with Dark Avatar? 2) Am I gonna lose the ability to use the bon
