Unfortunately because there is no transparency in how the production values are calculated, if you were working for SD as a QA tester you would have a heck of a time noticing that anything was wrong. You can see what the values are, but it's anybody's guess how those values are arrived at. Probably my biggest gripe about this

Movies Freezing Up in Galactic Civilizations II Stardock Forums

A problem I'm having is that some of the movies in the game, whether they are main intro, tutorials, or campaign related, are prone to having the video freeze up while the sound keeps going. I fix this by quickly alt tabbing out and back into GC2 and the video jumps to where it should be and keeps playing [and maybe freezes again 15 seconds later]. I might suspect that it was some evil codec or media player that I installed, but I've never installed a bink player. <

Also trying to understand the undocumented quirks of population/taxes, and farms factor into this. It seems beyond a certain number of people, extra population does not give any extra tax revenue, while it does bring down planet morale/approval. I haven't found the magic number yet but I believe it is equal to or greater than five billion. Beyond that, you get no extra cash and it puts the hurt on your approval rating.
