**Bump** Just want people to see this!
About a week ago I wrote a fairly humurous post cparodying ranters... Ever since then, my karma has been a bit off so I figured I would do some fanboy parody to even myself out... Fanboys, be yee warned! I just have to say, that this is possible the greatest game ever created! Ever since I installed it, I've noticed certain changes in my life: -- Not only is the game bug free, but GalCiv2 actually fixed all the bugs in my other ga
Yeah, Ive pulled that trick once or twice on the AIs when switching from one weapon choice to another. It works, but it aint cheap, and if you arent careful, you can sink your economy. As for the "easy upgrade" feature, I think it works fine. If my ships are close to one of my planets or deep inside of my territory, then the upgrades are quick. IHowever, if you try that around an unincumbered AI (especially with Brad's new tweaks) and your
As commented before, the design really isnt bad. The drengin are conquering race, but to enable them to be effective, they need the latest and greatest offense/deffense tech. So seeing labs paired with factories makes sense... although the Econ capitol is kinda... The AI could run outta room on other planets and just wanted it to get put down somewhere.
Ok, so I played GalCiv2 for about three hours last night (when I should have been studying). This morning I took my first final, I finished the final in one thrid the time available and and scored 100%. I feel this can mean only one thing: Playing GalvCiv2 makes you smarter! No longer will I spend days inside the library studyingobtuse equations and factoid
Me gamer. Me no talk so goood. Me spell easy stuff like rocx or skillz. Or somtimes when me angry me say ****. Me angry alot. Me want money two. Stardock! Give me money!
Yeah I'm kinda in the dark too... I thought that a diplo victory required that only the player need to Ally with all the AI's (kinda hard to make AI's allies... have no idea where to start)
Not a bad idea, I can see where and when it might be useful. I think you right in that this is somthing more in line for GalCiv3 as opposed to an update. But good on ya
My last few games I have noticed somthing, my fleets of small ships tend to hold up much better than my fleets of larger ships, heres why: My smaller ships are constantly upgraded with the latest offense/defense capabilities since they are cheaper to maintain. My ships are much faster than the AIs so I dictate when and were I fight, thus gaining the attackers bonus. Since I get to fire first I can wipe out half the enemys fllet be
I will be able to get fewer techs from them than someone who doesn't have them. Agreed as far as I can tell, its the diffrence in diplomacy skills that determines what kind of price you can get for buying and selling goods. It also determines what trades the AIs are willing to intiate! Yeah I dont trade with Terrans... Drengin, Alter
Its been stated before the the AI cant tell the difference form the play and the other AIs. That means that your getting as good of a deal as an AI with and eqivelnt diplomacy rating. Additionaly if your at war with an AI dont expect to get many good deals! I've found trading with the AIs to be very profitable and useful in staying ahead of everyone else technology wise. Ofcourse its takes a little while and can be a little tideous, but I li
Very odd, i agree, I would have expected the advantage to be much lower... but hey why complain whe your winning!?
Nice I'll keep that one in mind!
Hey everybody! I was dicussing this with another player the other day and wanted everyone elses take on this: Somtimes you really want your AI allies to declare war on another AI but they refuse due to the enemy AI's vastly superior forces. Wouldnt it be nice to form a coalition of your allies against a single enemy? That way all the smaller, weaker races are able to contribute a small bit to the war and take down a much larger fo
In my experience, turn based stratedgy games take FOREVER to play. My suggestion is a little diffrent: Make it email based. You make your move, take as much time as you like, design custom ships, basically play the game as you normally would. When you hit the turn button your information about what you did during your turn will be sent to the host computer. Both players can play their turns simultaneously and once both turns are submitted th
I agree this isnt a console site, but I looked and sure enough this is posted in the console section of the forums (I didnt even know we had one of those)... But what I will say is that this guy is probably some duper getting paid by an advertising agency. The formatting and lack of any spelling/gramatical errors give it away. So in light of its fakeness I still opt for this post to be done away with!
Very nice, thanks for your effort!
obnoxious and needlessly provocative Provocative? Thats quite funny considering I'm asking you to relax! Your experience is actually a fact: Audiable instantaneous interaction will always be superior to written communication. Had you said
In tune with using your diplomatic channels, if you have the cash try buying up their starbases. It aint cheap, but you can buy up their major source of influnce generation and add it to your own! Plus plain old out teching them in terms of your influence works well. If your doing this I would avoid selling said techs to anyone else seeing how the AIs are willing to trade most any tech for the right price!
What the heck, I'll bump this, nice work boys, cold ones on me!
Tough place to be man, I sympathize... Perhaps the old saying "If youcant beat em, join em!" might work. Try building an alliance with the Torians and go for a diplomatic victory!
Excellent idea! Having anomolies pop up through out the game would be awesome!
You need to research the starbase offense/deffense techs. Thos will unlock new modules for your military starbases.
Not to answer your question or anything, but why do you want a direct number? Do you plan on calling Frogboy's secretary? Or maybe the artistic department? Or perhaps accounting? The reason they have a customer support number is so you can contact someone who can help you with the game. I'm going to suggest what I usually suggest to angry, impatient people (not sure which one you are): Relax, be patient, be understanding. Try goin
