Well, I am into a "conquer the galaxy" game of SW EaW. To tell the truth, it is a good game that I could enjoy so much more if I were not waiting for GALCIV 2. And, I think that by this time next week, I will hardly be touching it. But I do think that sometime in the future I will probably do more with it. The graphics are cool, and gameplay isn't typcal for real time strategy for the most part (there is a "skirmish" mode I have not tried yet that may be of a more frantic race to build that is

Matrixzer0, I am getting both. The game play will be different enough that it will in no way be like buying the same game twice. However, if I was forced into making a choice (as you seem to be), it would be GALCIV 2 because turn based space 4X strategy is what "floats my boat". My impression and expectation is that GALCIV 2 will be the best of that type of game . But I must say that the demo of SW EAW is impressive. It will be a fun game to play when I am in

Well, as I said, I will no doubt use metaverse. I am just not going to sacrifice gameplay for a higher score. GALCIV 1 was probably one of my favorite games of all time (and I have been around longer than I care to admit - think back to the original "Reach For The Stars" on the old Commodore 64) . GALCIV 2 looks to be way better than GALCIV 1 in so many ways. ... and better than every other 4x space game ever. Only a Dregin would not be satisfied wit that. Hey, if metaverse is improve

I have been playing a turn-based fantasy strategy game called "Westnoth". It is free, has six different races (udead, humans, orcs, elves, dwarves and some reptile guys). It plays simply, controlling villages gains revenue, has AI, and several campaign cames as well as random maps and regular scenarios. Find it at: http://www.wesnoth.org/ It is not nearly on the same level as MoM, but plays quick. You can set it up everyone for themselves or team play. I'll play it quite a

First, I loved GAL CIV 1 and am looking forward eagerly to GAL CIV 2. I spent many, many pleasurable hours with the first. I figure it cost me less than a penny an hour when comparing the cost of the game with the hours I played it (I didn't really keep record). But I did eventually stop playing it. I found that trying to get my score higher on metaverse (I got up to 32nd place) involved employing less than fun strategy during play, such as "rerolling" galaxy set ups and employing in-
