From a military/tactical viewpoint, wouldn't you think that the R&D guys in this universe would not think of the possibility to mine phase lanes? I don't know about game balance or the pseudo-science compatibility but it should be considered...

Apart from some of what has already been mentioned, I have a few esoteric requests: What I would really love to see is: -The ability to make our solar system (an Earth texture please?) -The ability to choose the color scheme for systems in the map editor/ Galaxy Forge (Real Space Blue, Red, Green, etc.) -Ability to add more unique races -True full-screen mode (no icons, no buttons, just the graphics) By the way, you guys have done it again: superb

Hi guys, I've tried combining the contents of the Hi-Res Mod with Kryos latest mod in DA but I cant see any of the hulls in-game. Can anyone help - how can I combine the two mods in DA? Thanks, IC

Well, considering all the advertisements and the media on the sites clearly show a Dark Avatar box, I will complain, as my CD arrived a few days ago. I do feel misled by this. There was no info anywhere to state that we would only get a CD in a sleeve. Box image + CD = boxed CD. Thats basic human understanding. You clearly have a pack shot of a box. If I'd have known, I would have ordered the boxed version with GC 2.

Does anyone know of a brief resume of the various in-game alien races behaviors? I'm asking this because in the custom race creation screen you can assign those behaviours to your new races and its not really defined exactly what they are.

I have simply downloaded the ships available on this site in the Library section, so I'm assuming 'just the models'. Iam certain I read a short while back that Brad said in DA there would be no fussing about having to rename stuff and we could just use the ships 'as is'. I'm a bit confused by this, as one of the main problems we had in the past was having to alter game files just to use custom ships people had made.

Thanks Kryo. I still dont get it though. I have some Babylon 5 ships I want to use and want to make them available in-game but it means writing -over some of the race ship styles.

I read a while back that with DA you can simply drop customised ship files people have made into a folder, without any need to rename/replace files in the game. What do we do?

License Limitations for activation? How stupid is this? Just an example: A professional graphic designer, audio engineer (professional recording studio) or other industry pro may upgrade his RAM, sound and graphics cards, CPU's or Motherboard several times over a relatively short period of time. 1 year is a long time in the software/hardware industry. Things become out-of-date fast. What happens then? Upgrading hardware is a normal and natural occurance.

"All the negative responses here are valid", there is not a single bit of truth on that statement without proof and your expirence hardly qualifies as proof. You tested a Beta, not Vista. Its like saying "Hey that movie is lame because it has a bad teaser". OK PEOPLE LETS TALK ABOUT THE REAL TOPIC: "IS VISTA GOOD FOR GAMING?" jmonte

I tried the Beta only a month or 2 ago and to cut a long story short, it was useless. It would not let me run any of my programs I need for work, and its a resource hog. Oh, and the Sims 2 (the biggest selling global PC game) doesnt run on it. Anyone guess that MAXIS are going to release all their old Sims 2 titles for Vista? All the negative responses here are valid and personally, rather than spend any more cash on upgrading my PC, Im going MAC.

Actually -no. On Stardock it clearly lists the Beta as being available for download and theres an option to purchase it. Considering I just preordered because the Beta is listed as a download, I'm not pleased. Really, really, quite furious.

Forget IE. Get Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ You wont be sorry you did. It's amazingly good, tabbed browsing, user-friendly, stability is great and you get to add cool add-ons to it. The security is well cool too.
