hello?

No response means one or two things usually.
1) No one else has had this problem and don't know how to help.
2) Your problem got lost in the noise.

I fall into the first option.

But . . . Hello!

well, i would bet most people don't use bluetooth devices on their pc's. so this would be a bug with the application that should be looked into. so i would like to make sure that support teams see it for future development. yea yea, so i should email it to [email protected], but 9 times out of 10 i don't get a response there either.

Try the Windows Xp option Clean Dekstop this will work....because I had the same problem.

So this isn't a IconX bug....

Ps don't hide desktop icons using TweakUi but use IconX for hidding icons.

i would use icon x for doing it, if it was listed as an icon i could hide, but it is not. it's simply not listed, it seems that iconx just ignores the state of this icon, and displays it regardless. i've looked at the above ms article as well, that has nothing to do with the My Bluetooth Places icon. iconx is simply displayin an icon on my desktop, that is not there.

Try it first before you judge. The Windows Desktop Clean up tool makes it possible to select icons and hide or show them on your desktop. Try the tool first for u judge.

i have tried the tool, i tried it b4 i hit submit post, but i'll go ahead and try it one more time right now.......yep, doesn't detect it, because i've already removed it, but iconx keeps putting it back. if i unload iconX, it's not there.

Mayby Uninstall IconX (also check Application Data and registry). Then re-install IconX.

Take a look at the *.items in your IconX directory and see if the bluetooth item is there. Delete it (after making a backup).

i don't have any *.items on my entire drive, i searched all of C:\ because i didn't see anything in iconx program files folder.

i do have some icons on my desktop though, so shouldn't those show up at items i assume?

It really was a shot in the dark. I have a blank *.icons file and a *.items file that contained an old desktop icon.

Sorry it didn't help

My Blue Tooth Places or Bluetooth Information Manager ( dell) will shop up when your computer is booted and your bluetooth device is activated. Turn off your bluetooth to get rid of it.

I believe, because it is summoned by your hardware status, it will always be sitting on top of whatever Object Desktop is doing

Never mind, I found a reg key under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/Desktop/Name Space for the My Bluetooth Places icon and exported (in case I needed to reinsert) it and then deleted it. That seems to have fixed the problem entirely

that is true, but i think u forget that, the icon is only showing up when iconx is on, if it's off, the icon isn't there. also, my bluetooth is off, but once u set up a device, u always have that, u don't have to have the device turned on to have the icon there.
