What about us Widescreen users?...

I love so many of the wallpapers I have seen on this site, I especially enjoy Apcalypse's Tribal Dragon in blue. The problem is that I have found zero widescreen wallpapers on the site... I feel, left out. There are one of two things I would like to see change, either people start making more widescreen formats (1680 X 1050 would be great ), or there needs to be a new search criteria added to search for specific wallpaper sizes. I would prefer that the first happen, but that could be asking too much, so the second would do. Just SOMETHING to help find those pesky 1680 x 1050 resolutions...

Well, most of the artists here don't have a monitor that would allow them to design their walls in that aspect ratio. Your best bet is something like http://www.digitalblasphemy.com, he offers most of his walls in widescreen resolutions, at least to members. Good Luck!

I figured as much, still a search option to search for specific resolutions would still be nice, for all memebers not just widescreen users.

I usually browse here for widescreen sizes http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/index.php?sort=date and the Deviantart widescreen section and most times a lot of searching sites.

You definately won't find widescreen sort of sizes like that and higher here yet...

i'm new to wallpapers, but just had my first accepted. as i have a widescreen, i will be producing any wallpaper i make in most sizes, including 1680x1050

ive created a few wallpapers and unless your creating them on a widescreen monitor it can be quite difficult judging what your drawing when u cant see the whole screen

Yeah, I already knew about DigitalBlasphemy (My friend tipped me off), the problem is that the widescreens are only in the members section... At least I think, havnt been able to find any free widescreens.

liquidguru, that reef is amazing, wish I had that around my work!
Stee03, I know that it is hard to do widescreen stuff without a widescreen, and I dont expect authors to make them specially for me, it would be nice, but thats too much for me to ask. Thus I would be happy with a search criterion augmentation.

Anyways, just thought I would throw this out there. If anyone else has links to widescreen desktops (Free please, I just bought a bunch of new stuff and am too broke to purchase walls at the moment) please feel free to post them!

i have some widescreen walls in the Wincust library, as well. They are there, but you have to read the descriptions - some artists include wide formats in their package but preview normal aspect ratios.

I know that this thread is a bit old but I would like to let you guys know that I managed to make couple dual screen contributions recently. One is from a baseball game and another from the island of St. Thomas. For anyone interested I can convert the image to a wide screen with specific dimensions. Just drop me a note and I'll be happy to accomodate your request. It's interesting because I was wondering what kind of uptake do we have here for wide/multi screen wallpapers. I also have a handful of (not posted) wallpapers that could be tri-screen or wider too. Seems that there's some interest in these types of wallpapers.
