A Departing Son... And One Departed
http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/wireStory?id=1434631This week, however, has been pretty depressing. First I discovered that Johnny Damon is heading to the *hisssssssssss* Evil Empire. Seriously, I don't harbor any ill will toward him. I understand that baseball is his career and he has to operate within the parameters of what's best for him. Sure will miss him though. Grrrrrrrrrr. Stupid Francona. Can't believe they let him go. But heck... it's gotta be nice to have players from the Yanks calling to woo you. Good luck, Johnny. Just not TOO much.
On an even sadder note, Tony Dungy's (head coach of the Indianapolis Colts) 18-year-old son James was found dead in his apartment today. The police don't suspect foul play at this point and believe it to be a case of suicide. I can't even imagine the pain this family must be dealing with right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Tony. May the God of all comfort be near you in the coming weeks and months.
