Locamama recently wrote an article asking asking several questions about why people blog.  http://locamama.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=95055  It is a very revealing article both to others, and to those who took the time to answer the questions.  But one of the question generated a lot of questions itself, and not many answers.

Do you consider yourself to be in with the in crowd on JU?

So what is the "in Crowd" of JU?  I guess we could easily put Brad, Karmagirl, Cordelia, T-Man, and Larry in there as they are the Admins.  But who else belongs in the 'in crowd'?

Before anyone can really answer that, I guess we would have to define what the 'In Crowd' is, and that is the question I am asking here.

What do you consider to be the In crowd.  You can use people, or categories, but I am interested to know what others think is the 'in crowd'.

I don't know about looking at the top of the lists. Certainly it'd be useful to a certain extent, but I don't consider Dusk part of the "in-crowd." Don't really see a lot of posting by him. Or her. See?

Him.  He does a lot of music, and does comment on some.  But is not a regular on most articles.  And Lucas is restricted right now, so cant comment on others.  So yea, the top X is not a real good measure I would think.

But, I guess, better this than spending another evening midlessly watching the mindless tube.

I was never much of a joiner, either. I come here to blow off steam about things I feel deeply about, and to read some good, thoughtful articles. Some are less so than others, of course, but then, I'm no one to talk.+LOL+

I don't see a clique here so much as I do simply people supporting (or not) other that they agree with (or don't). There's nothing wrong with that.
There have been some feuds in my time here....little whip and Myrrander...little whip and Dabe...little whip and kingbee....little whip and Marcie...hmmm....are we seeing a pattern emerging here?

I was part of said in crowd early on in JU but I have had much less time on my hands for the last year or so so now I am just one of the oldies along with many others from back when JU only had a few regular posters.

I read this blog every day. I like the debate. I feel it is home to a horrible bigot who has become endeared to the “in crowd” over time. From her half naked picture, to her please pity me commentary, there is always a negative side to anything good and great. I guess I am in the “out crowd” and very glad to stay there. Besides, my mom told me that if I didn’t have anything nice to say, shut up.

Actually, it was every sane conservative plus most liberals against Myrrander and Dabe, perhaps since I was percieved as inflicting the most damage these feuds may seem to have been 'mine.' I've never feuded with kingbee, but we do have heated arguments, (none of which have ever gotten personal) and a LOT of people have been having problems with little Ms Marcie lately, and quite a few of them have actually written their own flames about it.

I hate to be defensive, RW, but I do get tired of being blamed for certain things. Did you know that Myrr had been banned by admin before he and I ever exchanged a single word? That I had never once emailed admin to complain about dabe? I mean sheesh, we even have one person on this very thread alluding to the fact that I "make people get banned."

Yes, we all get weirded out by the moonbats from time-to-time, and trouble often starts. Thing is, the "sane conservatives" around here, as you put it, always seem to band together against such uprisings. And it seems that we usually do win out when the lefties give up and "slink off" back to their caves, don't you think?

Hmm, I wouldn't put myself in the "in crowd" more of the "outer-inner crowd" because of my senority...however I haven't been blogging as of late. Perhaps if I start pumping out articles like the old days then I'll join the "in crowd".
