Electric Melbourne
Long Weekend

Its going to be an absolute stinker today. Its the 4th of March, a few days into Autumn, and Grand Prix fever has hit Melbourne. Its not often we are subjected to 37 degree temperatures in Autumn.
We have a long weekend this weekend, due to the Labor day holiday - nothing but a socialist celebration of the worker who needed trade unions to negotiate a 36 hour week... I shouldn't really complain though, i get a day off out of it, this weekend i have two!
I managed to scam the Tuesday off as well, I thought this would be a wise move as i do plan on killing many a brain cell this weekend at Two Tribes Before anyone pressumes too much, that isn't the reason i am going... Tickets to this thing cost $70, and thats V.I.P early birds. I wouldn't spend that much money just to go out and get fudged up you know what i mean? Its actually all about the music.
An event like Two Tribes really inspires me to educate. I have a friend here at work located in the remote support department. I suppose i have to tell those of you that dont know, there are many different forms of Electronic music, and the un-educated often make the mistake of referring to it all as Techno - i find this very naive. There is Trance, NRG, Drum and Bass, Breaks, Psy-Trance and of course there is my favorite sub genre - Techno. My mate Daniel is a big fan of Cheesy Trance music.
Most of the younger generation are fans of Cheesy Trance. This is simply because they haven't been subjected to the good music. They spend their friday nights at Hard Kandy or Bass Station, and its event likes this when they are finally priveleged to hear quality bangin' techno. The look on their faces is amazing... I plan to get Daniel into this, and i will be his dance floor sponsor.
Oh... i am getting excited thinking about it.
That isn't till Sunday though, and it looks like i have a massive weekend ahead of me. Tonight we have a team building excersise, we are going bowling!!! Joanne (my ever so scrumptuos boss) was telling me last night at the pub that she is working out a way that she can get to/from work without driving so she can have a drink or 5 with me at bowling tonight... Man, i love it when she has a few drinks... hehe... at a testimonial (she just walked in looking fine!!!!) last year, she got in a quite rambunctious mood!!! and was dancing with me in a most entertaining fashion...
Vassie also works in my department, and a tighter body on a nice young lady you will be hard stretched to find. She also is a dance instructor... hence tight bod. I dont think i need to explain the social failings of a majority of the people in the IT industry... and my work is no exception. As a general rule, they are introverts and dont kow how to party. These guys look upon me in awe, which is quite rediculous, just because of my close relationship with these very fine colleagues of ours... I am always on the dance floor with them at work events, and we always share good times around the office.
I take it upon myself to educate these poor shy boys on speaking to girls. I have had some fun times messing with them. Dont get me wrong, just because they are introverted, does't mean they are losers, it just takes a bit more beer for them to have fun
I guess i am sage of somewhat to various people, i suppose its an endearing quality of mine, if i see someone wanting, i will always try my best to help them in any way i can! I am the eternal optimist and a firm believer of self improvement. When someone cant do something, its not because they are stupid, it's because they dont have the right skillset, and if i can help develop that skillset, i feel obligated!
So Melbourne is full of all the beauty, glamour and power assosciated with the Grand Prix, and we have turned it on for them wheather wise. I cannot give thanks enougg for this. Hot Wheather means less clothes!!! Mum has a beach house down the peninsula this weekend as well, so i really must get down there at some stage. Probably during the day on Sunday or something like that.
I dont have tickets to the Grand Prix this year, but i went the last 3 years before that. I had a corporate box ticket last year as a bonus from good performance. It is so much fun, and gentleman, you have absolutely no concept of beautiful woman in the flesh unless you have been to grand prix - i dont even care about the cars!!! the Atmosphere is electric.
We will probably chill at Vlats in the afternoon before Two Tribes... not only can you hear the cars (you can hear them all over Melbourne) but we can see the track as well...
I beleive this is going to be a fun one.
BAM!!!
