Dumb tech supporters suck...

When Tech supports follow the tech support's book too closely...

Dumb: Hello! This is **** tech support. My name is dumb and how can I help you?

Me: Hello. I just bought this wireless network PC card, and it worked, but first time I removed it, it got fried and it won't work anymore, no lights turns on and windows don't even detect it anymore.

Dumb: I see, now click on the bars by the clock...

Me: There's no bars since windows won't detect the broken card.

Dumb: OK now go to network connections and double click the wireless icon.

Me: There's no icon since windows still won't detect the broken card.

Dumb: Now double click the bars by the clock..

Me: Still no bars since windows still won't detect the broken card.

Dumb: Now go to network connections..

Me, cutting in: You working off the book? I told you repeatably that the card is broken, so windows won't make wireless icon and bars in sys tray.

Dumb: I see.. now go to network connections..

Me, cutting in again: I don't need to go there to know that icon's not there. I told you again and again, it's completely broken. Nothing happens when I plug and unplug card. It's like card don't exist for windows. Now send me to higher level support or set a replacement for me.

Dumb: I see...

Well the rest of story is that guy finally relented and set an exchange. :p Talk about bad combo of stubbornness and dumbness. :p

In least it's a good story now. :D

The other side of it - Dumb Users...

User: I'm trying to print a presentation and the printer won't print, can you help?

Me toddles off down to look at the printer...

Me: Have you tried to sort this?

User: Eh? I've tried everything, even re-booting, nothing works. Anyway, that's your job, you're IT support, just bloody fix it, I'm in a rush to get this done.

Me: OK

Two seconds later the printer starts printing

Me: OK, it's printing now.

User: That was quick. You're a genius. How did you get it printing?

Me: (with dead-pan face) I put paper in it...

This isn't the first time, and it won't be the last...

One of my most favorite support site.

Lol good one, Fuzzy Logic! It sure shows there's dumb people on both sides, and everywhere else too.

Dell tech support is worthless. I emailed them about a restore program that isn't working correctly. Guess what their answer was? They want to replace the motherboard. It's a software problem guys it has nothing to do with the motherboard.

hey at least you didnt have to call HP tech support!

I work for HP shopping.com and have heard crazy horror stoies about people not being able to get on the internet and 8 hours later tech desides you need to format? (Silly) lol!

Or calling Tech after you figure out youre fax on that new All In One Printer you just bought doesnt work and spend 5 hours on the phone with tech (which is in India) only to have them tell you "well sir i think your fax is DOA" ha ha ha ha ha

I feel your pain man......trust me i feel it!!!

Super Wizop Fuzzy Logic, or should it be "Super Wazock Fuzzy Logic",
WHAT A WANKER YOU ARE, and by the way, did you get permissions from Leonard Nimoy or Paramount Pictures
for the use of the image of Spock for your avatar??????
If not, so much for the rules and regulations on this site.

Avatars and skins are two different things, and please refrain from personal attacks.

Not in my opinion, "COPYRIGHT" IS "COPYRIGHT", no matter which way you look at it, as
I have OFTEN been told on this site.
P.S. Mind your own business Wizop Island Dog, I was asking Super Wizop Fuzzy Logic,
not you.

Submitting a skin in your own name using other people's images is different than displaying a avatar on a forum.

I am a moderator for this part of the forums.  Using a personal attack against someone else here is my business.

alpha-omega For the last few weeks you appear to have been on a course of self destruction here accompanied by increasing hostility towards WinCustomize and it's officials. Starting with attacking Frogboy and his right to post news articles on his own site, and ending with a personal attack on a moderator.

Let's see if a period of enforced silence improves your attitude

Hmm As soon as you resort to insults you adready lost your argument. Besides there IS such thing as 'fair use' uses that don't violate copyright laws.

Back on topic......

Two items of note that I have seen are:

1 - HP offers a BIOS update for a Pavilion 754v, which is an executible file meant to run from the GUI environment, and the hard drive has Windows XP Pro formatted with NTFS.

Anyone know why this won't work?...........Just a fun test.

2 - Dell builds to order a notebook with a small partition on the hard drive which includes the "Dell software recovery" data, which is intended for the user to burn his/her own restore discs for use in an emergency......on a machine that has "NO" CD or DVD writer, just a CD-ROM optical drive.

In all fairness to tech support, they agreed to send the OS disc immediately upon finding the facts.

Sometimes the right hand is not in communication with the left hand..........

I have an HP Laptop and 1 month after I bought it, the LCD developed a bad, blotchy
strip of white allalong the bottom edge of the screen. Then the power adapter port
quit working. They immediately took it back under warrenty, then fought with me for
2 weeks stating that the damage was my fault, and that the motherboard was bad.
They then tried to stick me for $650 for a new Mobo. I put up a fight, and got
my machine back, and they fixed it under warrenty. 1 week after the warrenty expired,
the Battery died. Now this is funny... I never used it as a portable. I now have
a Toshiba Satelite as well as the HP Notebook. The Toshi Rocks, the HP I will never buy again.

Yeah. HP machines suck.

I also hate companies that always try to pin blame on owner.
