Destiny's Child envision a utopia where children never die and every adult is responsible in the cultish "Stand Up For Love."
A sactimonious piano and strings open the single, setting a moralizing tone. Beyonce says that after watching the news, she can't lies awake in her bed. She thinks of how screwed the world has become. She looks through the paper and sees the adoption section. A smiling child is featured with the headline "Johnny loves to read." She holds the child close to heart as though it were family. But only for a few seconds.
In the pre-chorus, she starts to wonder about the children who are being abused or killed at an alarming rate. The stories she reads are neverending.
In the chorus, she thinks there will be an end to class structured society. Despite their income, everyone will be taken care of equally. She urges people to assemble together to demand a better, positive society.

Rowland sings the pre-chorus and chorus.
The strings are fanatical in the bridge. Michelle Williams says that people are lemmings. If one influential person deems saving the world cool, everyone will blindly go along with it. She says the people whose deaths do not covered by the papers or are neglected by their families will have their chance."And it all starts right here/And it starts right now/One person stand up/And the rest will follow/For all the forgotten/For all the unloved/I'm gonna sing this song."
She sings solely with the piano for the pre-chorus.
Beyonce, Rowland, and Williams sing together for the chorus. Williams somehow is able have some lyrics of her own in the chorus."If we all stand together this one time/Then no one will get left behind/Stand up for life/Stand up and sing/Stand up for love/For love/For love."
"Stand Up For Love" is based upon the idea that people all care and are without prejudice. They are obsessive in their mission, treating it as their religion. However, they also self-righteous. They perceive themselves as perfect and expect people to feel as strongly as they do. If they don't, they will find someone to break the unbelieving person down. Their approach is scary, to say the least.
Even at the bitter end, the Destiny's Child hierachy is firmly in place. Beyonce is first and gets the most lyrics, Kelly is next (but is given less than usual) and Michelle is given the scraps. Rowland, the most talented of the group, is able to salvage her section a bit. She is able to reach her notes without straining (like Williams) She also uses another part of her voice and is heartfelt in her delivery.
