Error on Boot Up

when i boot up my laptop, i occasionally get the following error message

i carried out a search on my entire hard disk for the 167d_appcomdat.txt file, but it doesn't exsist.

(sorry for the large jpg size, but i run my screen at 1680x1050, and i wanted to make sure it was clear )

Uninstall RightClick, then reinstall. Should do it

thanks for the reply hippie

does that mean i will lose all my settings for rightclick?....the above error only occurs about every 10 boot ups, and i have quite a complex rightclick menu...it only takes a moment to re-start rightclick after this error message, and then everything is back to normal...i was mainly posting for stardock to see the error message and hope they might fix it in a future release

really really hoping that the new version of rightclick (if it ever comes out) has a way to save the config of rightclick

Yea, I'm waiting on it too. Try just reinstalling. That way you shouldn't lose you're settings, and it may clear up the problem. I've got a fairly good sized RightClick also. Just givig you some thoughts that may help. Peace.

If you go into the RightClick main directory and copy out the "desktopmenu.obbar" & "RightClick.ini" and under the RCBars directory the "imports" subdirectory with the "icons" subdirectory and the under skins the directory of the skin you use that should be a good backup for you.

heres an easy way to reset right click if it ever screws up...

1)get your rightclick settings the way you want then go to the right click directory (c:\program files\stardock\object desktop\rightclick)and create a folder called "backup".

2)copy "RightClick.ini" and "desktopmenu.obbar" to the new "backup" folder

3)open up notepad and copy the foillowing text exactly:

copy /y "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\RightClick\backup\desktopmenu.obbar" "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\RightClick"
copy /y "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\RightClick\backup\RightClick.ini" "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\RightClick"

4)save the file with a ".cmd" extension

NOW whenever right click screws up and you want your original menus etc you can simply unload right click and double click this file then reload right click and you'll have all your original menu items.

have fun
