Animated Wallpapers / Downloading too many programmes

My first post!!! Well first may I just say Hi and Thanks to everyone of the contributors to this place, I have been browsing, downloading and pretty much pimping my computer sinec I found this place, its great.

Anyways, I have a couple of questions that may be answered in this forum, but I have searched so much whilst looking for themes, wallpapers and the like, and I thought maybe I was due to post a question...

Firstly, is there such a thing as animated wallpapers, as i havent stumbled across anything yet, sorta like a screen saver but a wallpaper. I have a very nice wallpaper, "reflect trio", very nice, but cant help thinking that if it moved just a little when I minimize my windows or start up it would be even better.

Also, I have decided against Themes as I am not ready for them, rather I am going with Blinds, Wallpapers and maybe Icons. My question is do I have to keep downloading every single programme for each new add on i want or is there a complete download I can use.

animated walls here are considered DX objects (since they use objects) - go to dx objects gallery, click on advanced search, check animated wallpaper, click 'go' and you get this: Link

Thanks!

Had a look but its a bit of a limited choice, but I will take a look at the other objects there.

I have a few animated gifs of my own that i would maybe like to put on my wallpaper, whats the easist way to go about customizing for that sort of thing?

depends on your animation program.
extract the frames from the gif, put them back as a png.
create an object for desktopX, use the png as the pic, set th number of frames and speed.

they're not really wallpaper but objects sitting on top of your wall paper. you can create them to be different or to blend in (look at the castle animated wall) the flag pole, torches, and door are animated objects set on top of the wall.

if you don't have a program that creates png (basically an animated gif turned into filmstrip as opposed to stacked) there is an animated png tool Link you can use.
