Ok, those of you who are regulars know I am a conservative!  (not a republican!  if you said that, go to the start of JU!).  And you also know I hate racism with a passion.  More so than any fake on the left, or faux on the right.  I destest it!

Why?

I am french.  All know that.  I am a bit german.  Ja Wohl mien Herr oder Frau!  I am also some of many other things.  Some I dont know.  But thanks to a distant cousin (now a refugee from New Orleans - yes you PC twits!  A refugee!), I am also black.  Not "Afro American" or what ever piss poor shit you want to call yourselves.  You the ones that dont have a clue.

No, Black.  As in Santo Domingan.  As in maybe from Africa, but they and I dont claim that.  Born on this side of the atlantic, and damn proud of it!

I dont know the percentage.  I really dont care.  Does it matter to you?  Hell, I am darker than Doug Wilder and he calls himself Black! (if you dont know the name- Dont even talk to me about race!)

So what am I?  I am Black, peach (what you call white) and god knows what else.  I am not Native American.

But my Ex is.  And so are my kids.  Want to make a case of it?

I am not Hispanic.  But my Wife is (and I am darker than her).  Want to try for number 2?

The only thing that I cannot claim in my blood line, through marriage or heritage, is Asian.

So you want to talk to my friend Tadami?

This is just a rant.  And a warning to all trolls. 

Dont ever talk to me about race!  For while I may not have lived in your shit, I know a hell of a lot more than you.  And I dont use my race, color, creed, or beliefs as crutches! So dont pull that shit with me.  Because if you are a mensch, you will not try to do that crap. If you are a Casper Milquetoast, you will.

Dont tell me about your problems.  Tell me about your sucesses. Those I honor and will give you your due.  The rest gets my scorn.

You were not born into slavery.  Indeed, with few exceptions, you were not even born under Jim Crow.  How you live your life is your decision.  But dont blame me for your failures.

And dont blame me for your failures.  My Ancestors overcame.  Just as anyone can. Mine just did not look for a handout, and instead made a life.

Yep, but it used to be called Santo Domingo.  It was when my ancestors lived there.

At least here in the U.S., it's quite rare to find anyone who's bloodlines don't include peoples from many different races and nationalities which is why the racists are so absurd. It's highly likely their own ancestry probably includes some of the very people they direct their hatred toward.

I'm 1/4 Apache, some Cherokee, a lot of Irish, and who knows what all else. We're all just people and that should be good enough.

Nice. I am mostly Cherokee (not Native American-my choice) with a little English and Dutch thrown in around 1900. I was taught in the 50s and 60s to always put down white on the forms. I still do, just out of habit. Then I was taught to expect to be an alcoholic and always be the cowboy. Then I was taught that I don't really count as a minority because the other minorities said so (too embarrassing being alcoholics content to live on Reservations and all), despite the best efforts of white left wingers to pigeon hole me there. Stereotyped by the warriors against stereotyping.

After more than half a century I found that I come from a proud and strong history. I have also learned (from much travelling) that everyone else does too. Humankind as it strives to be more. I like sharing the heritage with you Dr. Guy. I too am a conservative, not Republican. Makes for good "shock and awe" when stating an opinion.

Exactly!  I cannot swear my bloodline does not include other races than listed as my father left when I was 4.  So I only know my mother's side.  And my Ex was 1/8 Pamunkey.  So I know my children are part pamunkey as well.

And was called such in the not so distant past. Phil Ochs wrote a song (in the 60's, I believe) entitled "The Marines have landed on the Shores of Santo Domingo".

Gid, you are older than I thought if you remember Santo Domingo as a country. The Dominican Republic gained its independence, from Haiti, in 1844. Phil Ochs song was probably about the city of Santo Domingo, which is on the coast.

I probably should learn more about he caribean, but I am very ignorant of most of the minor islands down there (just know where the big ones are thanks to NOAA).
