ok, I am so extremely sick of everyone saying crap about gay marriages. First off, this is just 2004's version of the mixed race marriages ALL OVER AGAIN. Man and man, or woman and woman have just as much right in this world to get married as Blacks and Whites do. It doesn't matter WHO you are, just so long as you are responsible enough to commit to the marriage, and know fully well what it means.
Now, i know that the republicans are saying stuff back like "we have to keep our marriages sacred." OVER HALF OF MARRIAGES END UP IN DIVORCES ANYWAYS!!!!! If anything, gay marriages might make that statistic go DOWN, just for the fact that it's harder to find same-sex partners than opposites. But still, if you think about it, what really MAKES hetro marriages more "sacred" than homo? If you think about it, marriage just consists of two people who want to move their relationship to the next level, for health and retirement, and marriage benifits in general. So why can't everyone have that right?
I just think that people are being so rediculously close-minded to put their prejudices before what America USED to stand for. Freedom and Justice FOR ALL.

As I have often said: if you're going to pose an argument, it is wise to pay close attention to grammar and spelling. (hyperbole too for that matter...) All-caps and exclamation points don't help your cause either.

Yea, the u.s. needs to shut up about ALL OF THE GAY MARRIAGES becuase I think its necessary for anybody to get married with someone else. It basically runs all of this back into money and religion when they try to repell it. "People could take money from us, it doesnt seem right to the religion, to my church!" since it states that bieng attracted to the same sex is against "GOD'S WAY OF LIFE" and most of these politicians and and shit are in a religion and usually disagrees with with homosexuality in our world. AND I THINK ALL CAPS ARE FUN SO SCREW YOU! SHE'LL DO IT ALL SHE WANTS!! hehe

The gay marriage deal is nothing but a political ploy. They just want people to focus off of the real problems like jobs and the war and you know everything else bush has screwed up... It's as simple as that it is a smart ploy because everyone including the ever predictable media is going crazy over it... Hate it or not everyone is talking about it. Lisa......... obviously you are a moron who doesn't even know who created marriage. If it was up to man, we would all be behaving like dumb animals and have no decency whatsoever. Marriage was created by god to prepare for entry into his coming kingdom. Without discipline and morals, the world would have destroyed itself a long time ago. Where ever you find high divorce, you find chaos and lawlessness. You apparently have been brainwashed by the liberal news media. My advice to you is to think for yourself about important issues.

As for comparing mixed race marriages with deviate fagot marriages, that is just plain crazy. Mankind is a huge melting pot of different races and nationalities and their is nothing wrong with two people who love each other getting married. Yeah, I am sick of people saying crap about gay marriages, too. As a matter of fact when I saw that this was about gay marriage I got just about *that* much sicker. I dunno what people think gay marriage rants accomplish. I don't see anything in this post that I haven't seen in a dozen others. I dunno what telling people they are wrong... again... is gonna accomplish.

People don't understand that this has as much to do with government benefits and insurance companies as it does about the moral Right.

Marvin... thank you for taking a knowledgeable stand on this subject. If everyone could get married just for security and money than we shouldn't allow it. Marriage is a symbol of love. As a christian I believe that all homos are just simply wrong. The "love" involved in this homosexual marriage stuff would be better discribed as lust. One of my fellow trombone players in my highschool band has a girlfriend who is pregnant. My friend is female. Now let's think about this. Could a women get another women pregnant? I doubt it. I have no idea where you got the idea that gay unity is "correct".

I do not opose the gay marriage. I am even keen toward their relationships having all the social benefits that heterosexual marriages do, but calling it marriage is a beginning of an unprecedented process.

The only issue I have with gay mariages is that at one point they'll demand to be equal to real mariages on a higher level and start to raise children, or even demand adoption rights. Perhaps the children from their relationship will be just as normal as the rest of the kids but it's not a risk I'm wiling to take. Assume for a moment you died and your children are to be adopted. you might not have a problem with that, mind you - I would.

One thing is certain - it's not the same as with races - gay mariage may not procreate without a help from outside of the relationship.

Background: I basically think that the “gay marriage” idea is the wrong way to go. It has too much of a spiritual connotation to it and that’s what the people are reacting to. The next course of action is a civil union. But this has its own problems as well. Namely, a civil union granted in one state will not automatically be valid in another state. This could be why they are pushing for the marriage aspect. Since marriage is recognized at the Federal level, the union would be valid in all states.

Question: How could it be arranged to have a civil union recognized across all state lines? How was it done with mixed marriages back in the 60s? I know some states or cities had legal prohibitions against it, how was it finally resolved?
