All I can say is: OUCH!  That is a lot of stitches, and I can't imagine how much that puppy will hurt during rehabilitation.

Parated: , that's funny! actually that brace is from the fall I took in the hospital, 2 weeks before surgery!

Karmagirl: yes, OUCH is right! although pain meds help get me through the PT and also the night. Thank you too for the kind thoughts!

I wouldn't go THAT far...all I did was post a couple of pictures and write a few lines.

Trudy....I know you're going to be in some pain from this. My wife has had this done "twice" and on the same leg even if it was 15 years apart (first one wore plumb out after 15 yrs.). All I can say is never give up! Keep fighting! What doesn't kill you can only make you stronger!

yup, some pain indeed, however........no more limping, no more razor blade like pain when walking, and the knee that was replaced
now is actually stronger than the right leg!

Your wife had her knee done TWICE???? wow. I've heard that happens.....if that happens to me, I'll be close to 75 so wouldn't elect
to do it again.... and I WILL get stronger! I'm stubborn. When it's needed.

Her first was done due to a sports injury from her senior year in school. Although it took some time for them to get around to fixing it. The second time they had to add bone matter (cadaver) to make the connection work. The first one came out in 4 pieces. It went in as "3" pieces. She was 50 at the time of the second. She went through the pain of needing the replacement for 2 years before I finally convinced her that what she was doing was unnecessary. So I can definetly relate to the amount of rehab pain after helping her through the second one.

Stop and "think" about that.....Not having it done again if needed would 1.)Put you in a wheel chair for whatever is left of your life at that time. Or 2.) You would either be doped to the gills or be suffering the same kind of pain you've already gone through. To me neither one sounds good.

I truly (pun intended) hope that this replacement lasts you forever.
