No need to download Firefox, you just need to use a package that changes the Internet Explorer icon.

Cordelia wrote a tutorial for changing icons with Icon Packager found here Link

I hope this helps.

thomasthomas:

would you possibly be asking about the IE toolbar icons?
if so, that's done with windowblinds but unfortunately the free version won't do it. Link (info)

I believe the old webblinds did (maybe? maybe not the shareware?) - with throbber effect (the loading page icon thingy). It used to be part of ODNT but I think WB does all that now. (info: Link )

Missed your meaning there, sorry.

Bichur has it.

WindowBlinds enhanced version is what you need ($19.95).

You will then be able to use icons included in WindowBlinds skins, or downloaded from the Toolbar icons library.

Note - you will need WindowBlinds loaded to change the icons - just start the WindowBlinds program > select a skin > if you want to apply a specific set of toolbar icons, go to the My Toolbars category > select the "Always use toolbar icon set selected below" option > select the toolbar icon set you want to use > click Apply Changes on left side of dialog > wait a few seconds for the skin (including toolbar icons) to be applied.

That should do it.

Yes, with the enhanced WB those icons are applied by the skin or you can choose to use other icons from another skin per Corky O's instruction.

I must retract my comment in #5 indicating that the shareware version does not currently offer Toolbar icon customizing.

I have been testing a few of the free versions before I start a clean install, and have found that you can change the toolbar icons if you successfully install them first.

I downloaded two packages of Toolbar Icons (Copperdeck2, and Mako).

Copperdeck2 did not install with a preview, and did not apply when selected.

Mako on the other hand, installed with a preview and did apply successfully.

I do not currently know what is causing the preview show/no show issue, but if you can install a set you like - or use a prepackaged set - you can use the steps in comment #5 to apply them.

Sorry about the miscommunication, I have been using Object Desktop for quite a while, and have not had a chance to test the shareware WB in a while.

Not sure about retraction Corky O. When I looked at the download page for WB the other day it still says no toolbar icon change in the shareware. Could be why Copperdeck2 didn't apply when selected. Mako on the other hand...ever tried to stop a shark?

I agree, the download page does indeed indicate toolbar icons are only customized with the enhanced version.

Yz Toolbar should do the trick.
