Are you also running IconX?
IconX and DesktopX were (i think) together and are now separate programs. however, the run at startups on both seem to conflict. Checking one seems to blank out the other

If not using IconX, you might try clearing the cache (by deleting the DesktopX cache folder), then restarting DesktopX > select the run at startup option in DesktopX configuration > create or load a desktop theme > save the theme if you create one > reboot to test.

You can see my mini tutorial for clearing the cache here Link

I just tested DesktopX and Aero Revenge theme on my laptop, and the run at startup worked, so the issue is either a conflict with another program as Bichur mentioned, a possible theme bug, or possible bad install of DesktopX.

I hope this helps.

Ok I have this image of my folder structure for Stardock in application data. Can I delete all folders under Stardock? Are they all cash folders?
Thanks,
Paul

Yes, they are all cache folders.

You can always delete any or all of the cache folders for Stardock products as long as the program is not running, with the following rule:

"Deleting a cache folder will drop any current configuration for the relevant program and force the program to start up with the default settings - this will permanantly delete any unsaved theme"

What this means, is that if you are creating a theme and you have not saved it, deleting the cache will remove all your work.

It is similar to say working on a Word document and closing it without saving - it will no longer be available to open and work on, you need to start the document again from the beginning. Word of course, would ask if you want to save your changes before closing - the programs using the cache will not ask.

Each time you run the program, a cache will be written so that the computer can load the last configuration you were using when you restart your computer. If you have something loaded that is creating a problem, and it is written into cache, the computer will load the problem again - unless it threatens the deeper parts of the Operating System, in which case you will receive an error from Windows.

Saving a theme, will write the theme to the programs sub-directory in "C:\Program Files...", and will be available for loading any time in the future.

After clearing cache, you can start the program and test it.
