Rocket Dock

For those with older PC's

My secondary computer at home is older and Object dock didn't work to well on it. The animations were slow and jumpy and the program often crashed. I own Object Dock plus and it works great on my pentium 4.

Being used to using the dock I went looking for a substitute. I found Rocket Dock. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of OD plus but it does the basics fine and is easy to set up. It operates smoothly on the old celeron processor and it uses all the backgrounds that are made for OD, yzdock, and moby dock.

I think there's a balance between being *THE* site for all things skinning and hosting a competing product.

I dunno.   :NOTSURE:

Rocket Dock is what I was using before I found Object Dock.. I found Object Dock and then WHOA Rocket Dock sits in the folder waiting if I will ever use it..

We will see.. I liked Rocket DOck but then I found Object Dock and the main thing of being able to "Colorize" docks in Plus was a BIG woweee for me .. I love to color the docks to match the wb if needed. Thats one big reason I left Rocket Dock for Object dock..

Kudos to BOTH though cause they both Run Great :D

I've always seen WC as a site predominantly dedicated to all things skinning, not just one dedicated to all things Stardock.

The list of available galleries showcase a number of what could be considered "competing products" to some of Stardock's offerings but as far as I can tell, these have not mane any negative impact on the popularity of Stardock products and as AnneMarie pointed out, these can even introduce and draw users to Stardock products.

I personally do not see the inclusion of alternative skinning applications as a bad thing as it gives users options and may even encourage further development of lesser known applications.

Perhaps I've had it wrong all this time and it is indeed a site dedicated primarily to the promotion of Stardock products, but I like to think that Stardock's products can stand on their own merits, especially with all the development being put into it these days.
