(personally, I don't see much difference between telling someone to shut up, and dictating to them how they can express themselves. The act of telling someone not to say shut up is kind of, well, oxymoronic, isn't it?)

I am just a sensitive guy!  But I owe you one as well, not for what I said in so much as how you took it.  I did not mean you were hijacking a thread, only that we were going off topic.

I do tell people to shut up, and have to Dabe, Zink, WF and the latest BRS.  But then they were too stupid to speak intelligently anyway.

Clarification Baker.  No one told me I could not tell them to shut up.  But I would rather have spirited and intelligent debate, and not stifle it.  And I dont want to dictate how one expresses themself, except on my blogs.

I can tell anyone to shut up.  And I will continue to.  But when I am wrong, I admit it.

ON a blog, I told Philomedy (Philo for short, not Phil BTW) to shut up. And I am sorry. I tried to find the offending passage, and could not. I tried to remember where it was, and could not. All I have to offer in my defense was that I was wrong! And since I cannot find the thread, I want to offer a public appology. And a special thanks to Philomedy! For he is a bigger man (you are a guy, right?) than I. He said forget it, it was nothing. But it was. I hate with a passion being wrong! But when I am wrong, I will not hesitiate to step forward and admit it. And in this case I was very wrong. Philomedy, thank you for accepting my appology, and thank you for forgiving my rash and uncouth behaviour. And for anyone that read that thread, it was wrong. Thank you all.

I admire your honesty, Doc. A lot of people don't have the balls to admit when they're wrong. But I say it takes much more courage to stand up and say "Yes, I messed up and, if you stick around long enough, I will mess up again."
