This is about as much as they have told us.  But then we are just lowly employees!  and the local rag is just that a rag.  Do you think they would try some investigating?

Sadly, this is how we are learning as we are not getting a straight answer from our agency.  Oh well, your soon to be unemployed friend (I strongly suspect).

I have been laid off twice now, so it is not new.  I know life will go on, and I will get another job.  I just hate the search!  Guess Marcie knows the feeling these days.

MM, if you look at the competancy of those leading the process, you get very scared!  let's just say I have seen more competance coming from a babies poop chute than from these poop chutes.

Tis ok.  If I do, I may just decide to chuck it here and come be your neighbor!

Hehe. And all of this in an election year. Gotta love it.

Wonder what our illustrious gubernatorial candidates (and lieutenent gubernatorial candidates and the "fine" folks running for the AG job) are going to have to say about this when they start spouting off on it.

Oh, well.

Well, they already said that Kaine is running as Warner II.  That is enough for me to vote against him.

The search is always the hard part. Hopefully it won't come to that for you.

I went to a former client (that is not subjected to this fiasco) friday.  They are advertising for a new engineer (the one that replaced me was a total dip wad).  The applications they were getting?

All said due to not knowing what is going to happen!

I hope the search is not long as well,  But I dont think Virginia is going to win any awards anytime soon either.

All said due to not knowing what is going to happen!

The typical scenario ...

1. Outsourcing vendor hires all former gov't employees at reduced/blended seniority and benefits.
2. Efficiency audit is performed on all processes with the goal of finding waste.
3. Senior (expensive) non-upper-management staff are offered 1) buyouts (management and kissups), 2) repurposing (change of roles at reduced/no seniority), or 3) termination.
4. Service fees are introduced or increased.
5. Service levels go into the crapper.
6. People complain and then get used to complaining.

At least that's what it looks like here for the dozen times or so its happened.

I have not really looked into it, altho it has happened around here a few times.  But it does look like that is going to be the game plan here as well.
