Yesteray, Yvonne got the CT scan of her hip and thigh.  We are hopeful that this will reveal the reason for all the swelling she has had.  Meanwhile, she was started on the Duragesic patch.  This provides much better pain control, so she is able to be more active.  She gets blisters on her skin from the patch, but that is a small price to pay for being able to actually do stuff.

Liz, the lady we hired to feed the horses, has developed problems.  She keeps getting anemic.  She has had to have three transfusions so far.  I don't know what the problem is, and I am not one to pry.  But between my broken arm, Yvonne's broken back and ribs, Jackie's broken foot, and now Liz's anemia, I am starting to wonder if it would be safer for us to move to Afghanistan...

Please don't consider a move to Afghanistan ... I don't think they like (or even HAVE?) Llama's and am sure do not appreciate the value of "shrinks". I am quite certain your physical image would NOT be enhanced with a turban atop your noggin!
However, I can understand how frustrating it must be to have incurred personal injuries to you and your wife, (with no resolution for the extent and continued existance of her pain or definitive answers as to its specific etiology) as well as the health issues affecting those attempting to assist you.
You may feel "ineffective" (your statement in previous post) at work, but I would like to add that some of "those" who, as recipients of your fine care, might beg to differ. With the myriad responsibilities you have, I can imagine it feels like inefficiency when one does not have full range motion of the arm, is still recovering overall, and fatigue remains a continued factor in your daily life.
I responded to add my "2 cents" (which is probably all it's worth) opinion and express that I doubt many of your patients have any sense that you've "missed a beat" regarding the care you directly provide them. As for documentation, and any other office related duties you perform, I will return the advice you once gave me ... "when one is stressed beyond one's limit due to uncontrollable life events, the PEOPLE one serves is paramount to a paper trail."

On that note I'll conclude with a reminder that despite your recent "distractions", you have and continue to, provide services with a proficiency and compassion that far surpasses most of your colleagues!
