After much speculation, the eagerly anticipated Cream reunion took place May 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th at London's Royal Albert Hall. In what was one of the must-see events of the decade, the legendary trio-Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton-lit up the 8,000-capacity hall with such classic material as “Badge,” “I’m So Glad,” “Crossroads,” “Sunshine Of Your Love,” and plenty more.

Come October, we will have the DVD of the event. Available for pre-order soon.

i'm truly scared to even imagine what ginger must look like by now (and i'm not even gonna try to find a recent pic). last time i saw him, he and keith richards were apparently passed out in a sorta pile at some multi-venue world broadcast concert (musta been in the 90s but i don't recall why it came about). if only a couple complacent bavarian villagers had been nearby, ike coulda easily compelled them to dig a grave and toss them two cadaverous mofos into it.

Iconoclast: WOW what a reunion! As you say, that was the "must see" event of the decade!! I love live albums and this one will definitely have to make it into my CD collection. Thanks for the heads up!!

i went a lil overboard i guess. compared to baker, richards looked positively pudgy. to answer your questions, richards is, in some ways, more fun to look at now than when he was the pretty boy of the group (and andrew loog oldman's lil boychic fantasy).

i saw the last stones' tour on hbo and, for the first time, began wondering if they were now operating on borrowed time. around the 2nd or 3rd broadcast, i began playin along with them; i was much better able to keep up with them than eny time in the past. sadly, i havent improved.

it's still pretty early in the decade, but even if it was 2009, i'd guess there musta been something to top it.

don't get me wrong cuz i liked cream. clapton was so much better when he was with the bluesbreakers and is, in my opinion, doing much better stuff today today. while cream may have introduced the power trio, it worked much better for henrix even tho redding and mitchell weren't--at the time anyway--nearly the equals of bruce and baker).

I thought that concert was great. I like what's-his-name on bass. Wyman always looked bored to me.

one of the funnier aspects of bill wyman's early performances on tv (i'm specifically thinking of '19th nervous breakdown' and 'paint it black') was his great imitation of a zombie suffering a thorazine overdose in the midst of a hurricane

I was trying to explain to my 12 year old son who Cream was (He was telling me about some super group that is supposed to be forming).  He thought I said Creed (Is there a group named creed or is he a soloist?).  He finally understood Cream , and told me he never heard of them!

Oh, well, I guess that makes all of us here old!
