Peace be unto you, may you have all you need in life and most of what you want.

Keep jasmine at your side.

Come back when you are ready I will be here waiting to greet you.

Hope you come back, but glad you were here, if only for a short time.

It's a shame things worked out this way. I hope you find the self-confidence to be proud of your own words and thoughts, and lose the need to pretend you are someone you aren't.

Even if that had been your work, it would have sucked as a blog. You don't need to use huge words and complex philosophies to get respect. The more you obfuscate your language and technically refine the content, the fewer people you are likely to appeal to.

It doesn't take a genious to use highly specialized language to make a point. That is actually easier if you have the vocabulary. What is hard is to take a complex idea and put it in the simplest possible terms without losing anything.

Andy Griffith will sway more people than William F. Buckley, any day of the week, and be liked more in the process. Go find some confidence in yourself and perhaps come back some day.

If I were rich I would donate sumpin for u reminding me it will be much more important to keep u out of other sites of mine independent from this system or at least treat u like german newspapers - u can make 1 "Counter-comment", a german law, without using certain language, u can say a lot, once, and not comment anonymous and not keep changing addresses. My systems will still watch ur aliases etc. here + externally as best they can. Be proud, in 2 months 16 people misunderstood me, also I made mistakes and am new, but the only aliases I blacklisted already were urs, only because
u messed up OTHER PEOPLES threads I like. what a feat! The worst thing newbies can do - blacklist the few people they know - ideal for testing the system though. U are still talented. What a waste. Yes, I mean Bailey/SuperLiberal/LiberalCrusader/Lifefromdownhere/Thoughts. No more misunderstandings about that with other users I hope, we will see. U really needed a comment, that can be the only reason u did not blacklist me, in this case, I feel. Not tolerance or ur being better. Thanks for causing so much work

Lucas, sweetheart, I think you know that I feel sorry for you. You seem so eager to please and so desperate for approval, and that's something that I can relate to, if only on a much smaller scale.

I'm not interested in insulting you or being hateful. I do feel disgusted by your various attempts to win others' favor through lies, plagiarism, and constantly reinventing yourself. No, maybe not disgusted...disappointed.

I really wanted to see you get a hold of yourself and thrive here on JU. Lots of new folks come on here with bad antics and when they're called on it, they straighten up and are welcomed into the community with open arms.

I am willing to accept you as you are...I don't need credentials to think of you as a decent person. I don't need you to always agree with me or with others. I don't need tales designed to impress.

I'm just incredibly disappointed that you aren't willing to drop all that deceitful peripheral stuff and be you. Deep inside I had a hope that you would be able to give up the lies and just relax and allow me (and others) to know you and exchange my (our) thoughts with you.

I really don't like being lied to, as I feel it is an ultimate show of disrespect for the intelligence and emotions of another person.

I sincerely hope that you are able to wrangle in your beast and come to accept yourself as an interesting, unique, and worthwhile person just as you are. Until you respect yourself enough to drop the lies, you will continue to find people turning away from you.

Best wishes, Lucas.

I can't help but feel I had a hand in this decision. Am I sorry to see you go? Umm...not really. Disappointed? Perhaps, because i really had hoped that you'd quit the bullshit and would simply be yourself. That's all you needed to be, Lucas. You were doing quite well for a bit; you didn't tell any major lies and you had stopped posting pictures of polar bears - but this last article was, to me anyway, simply a replay of your 'dissertation' article.

Why do you feel the need to do this, dude? Why do you have to embellish and lie? Do you think that any of us here are anything spectacular, that we're geniuses? For the most part we're not. We're just regular folks who happen to come together here to share our war stories and snippets of information about our lives. had you done the same; had you come here and said 'Hi, I'm Lucas and I'm just a regular dude, living with my mom and trying to make my way through life"...well, I think that you'd have found that you'd have been treated a lot differently. I think that you wanted to feel immediate acceptance, that you saw an 'in crowd' here and wanted to be a part of it....and had you simply been unassuming and given it time, that might have happened. See, most of us who form the circle you were envious of have been here for years. I've been here since the start of '04, and Baker was here before me. All you had to do was give it time, and you'd have been in like Flynn, kiddo.

Is this going to be a replay of the last time you left? Where you go away for a few days, then come back with a new name?

As usual, Tex said what I was trying to!

Really, Lucas, all you had to do was be yourself. Normal, average, unremarkable.....just you.

check the article itself..or:"I fucked up, I can't fight anymore, I am pathetic,I have horrible....(not in reference to PL prob, and my new policy for commenting on my blog..."

yeah..but would andy be most convincing and likeable as will stockdale in 'no time for sergeants' ('and he said therefore thee unto thou...and that's the truth')...as sheriff andy taylor (gotta choice here: 'i don't carry a gun because i don't want the people of mayberry to fear a gun. i'd rather they respect me.' OR 'well, i ate four bowls. if that ain't a tribute to white beans, i don't know what is.') or as matlock ('trouble is a two-way street')?

perhaps a better question would be 'how come network television refused to broadcast an hour of conversation between william f buckley and floyd the barber?'
Never knew you were here in the first place, but goodbye anyway.

Andy Taylor all the way. He's got the gun lobby's vote, but then he's palatable to gun control interests. He's a moralist, but he's not overly churchy. He's a widow, so all the hot drugstore babes and nurses play well.

Stockdale looked too much like Alfred E. Newman, and was insubordinate. Matlock is out of touch with the youth, and there was the one where they took pictures of him with that floosie. Dirt doesn't have to stick, just smear.

They did. Oh, wait, that was the 2000 presidental debates. Oh, wait, that was floyd the barber and a manniquin...

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaahaha

(which one was floyd?)

that kinda stuff sure went downhill from its apex in 1968 when one of the networks (i forget which one) arranged to have gore vidal and william f buckley provide live convention commentary.

Ugh, gah, it would be a tad verbose. I don't think either of them could write a haiku if you put a gun to their heads.

On the other hand, maybe the intellectual contrast between the commentary and the debate would be so stark people would actually see how miserable our choices really are. Can't have that.

here's the exact dialogue from the best moment of that incredible event:

Vidal: "the only pro or crypto-Nazi here is yourself."

Buckley: "Now listen, you queer, you stop calling me a crypto-Nazi or I'll sock you in the goddamn face and you'll stay plastered."

A gun to their heads?
That's a somewhat drastic way
To get a Haiku

can anyone tell me why a goodbye thread gets more comments than a welcome thread?
mainly because we aren't even bothering to address the goodbye part, and it is more of a threat than an actual goodbye, I think. He won't even delete the article he stole, much less the rest.

Hehehehehe. I had to hear it for myself. Thanks to Google, I did: http://kronykronicle.com/1968/BV4.html

Quite entertaining. Replace Vidal's Viet Kong apologetics with Muslim Insurgents and the end even becomes relevant for today.

Vidal: "Now you're distorting your own military record."

Yummy.
