Does JoeUser.com seem faster now?

We're trying..

Does JoeUser.com seem like it's faster? In the past week in the course of trying to fix the site, we (and by we I really mean T-Man and Alberto) have been working like madmen to optimize the site code to make it more efficient.  Hopefully, getting to articles and such feels a lot faster.  How does it feel to you? It should feel significantly faster so if it doesn't, let us know. Thanks!

Earlier today it would just hang forever when I would click a "next page" number on the bottom bar - finally quit & restarted SDC & it was working much faster after that. Some of the articles I'm tracking have a very large number of comments, so I can see why they'd take a bit to load, but this evening it does seem a bit faster.

It's a lot better than difference. I've been able to go to several pages without waiting a long time.

Thanks for the vast improvements!

as of 22:43 EDT, it's acting a lot faster. As of ... oh, 16:30, though ... it was almost as sluggish as usual (for the couple weeks, at any rate). No timeouts, but it felt like it was going to be close there for a while.

I have a question. Suppose somebody writes an article in JU and it is syndicated to Wincustomize.com. If I comment in JU, I get some points. I haven't tried this: I'm a newbie here; but if I comment from Wincustomize.com, will I get the points?

Funny, no quote function after loggin in + refreshin unless in forum, let me do it this way: Al Coneneus wrote "...but if I comment from WC, will I get points?": If you ALSO have a WC site, u probably increase forum activity under stats, or WC points for the channel u commented on, etc. Ima newbie too. Click "The scoring system" link on very below of dis page, by de way for interesting comments. Draginol: DOES seem faster 06:44 a. m. Thursday, Jul 28, 2005. Thanks to T-Man also for update on other thread.

It is a little faster. And I don't mean this as a whinge, but reading my last article is a lot faster now because since JU came back, 3/4 of it has disappeared!

It's WAY faster and much more reliable tonight (only one Page Not Found error which went away with a single refresh), but the comment counter is still busted.

And do we really need all those empty December 30, 1899 test posts?

Daiwa

Much faster, good job so far.

P.S. I want a premium membership, any idea when we'll be able to get them?

0900 MST - Anything but the Home/Front page is slow as molasses again.

At 5am the database backup runs so it's pretty slow then, not much we can do.  Not sure why it would be slow at 9am.

Definitely faster, though some of that might have to do with using Deer Park alpha...

Since Thursday, it's been fine - quick & without page load failures.

But we're now up to 4+ pages of those 1899 test posts in some of the Channels - can they be ditched now?

Cheers,
Daiwa
