Did you uploaded your images to the correct folder?

You should have all the contents of your site in one master folder. Within that folder you will have folders for your images, and other content. Whatever image you want to place within your site needs to be in one of those folders.
Open your index page in Dreamweaver, now find the "Image" icon on your toolbar. Drag that icon onto the spot where you want your picture. A box will open, and you browse to the location of your image.
Once done, upload everything to the server and you should be good.

I still don't like dreamweaver, but I heard it is better now.

Try to make sure that your images are in the right folder (like they said up there) and that the slashes are in the right direction.

Test on of your images by putting it in the same are as the html file.

Also, you should try to just open a hosting account. Since your experimenting, go for the cheapest. You can get some for a little as 5 dollars a month.

Also, give Brinkster a shot. They have an educational account that is very good and it is free.

You can try making a folder named website, in that folder you make a html page named index.htm. In the folder website, you make another folder named images.
Than you open the html page and insert a photo from the images folder. Than you save the page.
Now upload everything that is in the website folder. Open your page, and it should work.
This way, you will first try the basics, if you can get this to work, You should be able to make the website you told us about in your message. Hope it works

Once you've made the changes to your site files on your PC, and you preview it in your browser (before uploading) does it appear correctly?

Can you please write down your folder-structure, and maybe the html coding of your website? The page with 1 picture i mean. And if possible, the folder structure on your website (via ftp).

I don't know other (enlish) free hostingsites, I only know www.web1000.com they have 50mb storage and unlimited bandwidth. But if your website is offline or so, you have the possibility to be transfered to some porn site..
