Hyperborean Wanderer's Pet Goat

and a little about me.

This is HW's pet Goat. Nice, isn't it?

Seeing as this weekend is our 8 year anniversary, I decided to use it for my first attempt at a Photoshop project. I figured that he would appreciate a tribute to his beloved car.

When I first started Joeing, I lurked around, reading posts by Geeks and such. I didn't understand what was meant by skinning or any of the other "technical" stuff, so I just ignored it. I progressed to writing my own stuff eventually, but I still tuned out anything that refered to Windowblinds or Stardock.

But something must have snuck in because I started to read about it....started becoming interested in this new, strange world. I still don't get everything that Draginol posts about, but thanks to the icon-of-the-day (mormegil) and Kristen (Link) I dont' feel so incompetent.

This led to an interest in using Photoshop. I figured that a continuing ed class would help me learn the basics. Hense, the project above. I see the mistakes and flaws in it, but overall, I'm pretty satisfied for my first attempt....and hey, what would life be without the attempt?

So I started skinning my computer. I made my own wallpaper (Photoshop) and used a skin called longhorn slate 4051 by Ian Black. Thanks again to WindowBlinds. Lots of fun stuff there. Here's a screenshot for ya'll.

So there you have it....a GTO and my newest addiction....who knows where it will lead?

lifehappens - I've been behind schedule in checking out blogs. I'm honored to be mentioned in yours! Really nice work on the "goat collage" - much better than anything I could do at this point. Thumbs up!

Hi buddy. I've been computer-abstinent for nearly a week...now I'm catching up on your blogs. Cool Photoshopping you've got going. I admit that I too glaze over everything I read about windowblinds etc. because it's a foreign language to me...hmmm...but now that you've piqued my interest...

Is that the same car you two drove off in after your wedding?! If so...wow, what a transformation.
