Dabe has done her penance, and while I dont think she is not going to slip up and do the foulmouth thing again, I do think she has learned a lesson.  One I hope she will carry for at least awhile.

For all that know me, you know full well I am a dyed in the wool conservative and have less than 1% of beliefs in common with Dabe.  And yes, I have made fun of her.  But she seems to have learned part of the lesson, if not the whole lesson, and I think she will bite her tongue if you let her loose.

She will scream and yell and taunt and tease conservatives, and I hope she does!  But as long as she obeys the TOU, let her have probation.

From one who is not an ally in philosophy.

I know she is not repentant. I am hoping she can at least be civil and her last article was very civil.

Disagreement is not wrong. Disrespect is. I think she is unrepentant on disagreement. But she cannot bring herself to say she is wrong, even if she knows that disrespect is.

Doc, things are really dull. ZInk is a dud, and Myrr is tied up as well. KB and Thatoneguy are being reasonable and not fun to debate (we agree half the time). The other liberals are just plane lame!

So what is a good conservative to do? Hope for the release of the last of the far left to bring some spice back to life?

Debating whether Durbin should be impeached or just censured is getting kind of old.

I think you all are making dabe's point here. It's ok to berate and browbeat when conservatives do it to liberals, but not the other way around. It's ok to just continually patronize and insult, as long as it's done the JU way. Read the above posts, and dabe's article. Man oh man, she is so right on. There is a very clear and distinct double standard here. I'm starting to now feel the brunt of it. I guess the administrators of this site like it like this, otherwise they'd kick out drmiler, drguy, bakerstreet, and little whip, to name a few. You guys get away with the same thing that dabe does, only she's on the other side of the isle. this is really disgusting.

I guess it was OK to invade a country, kill thousands of people, result in the deaths of over a thousand of our own soldiers, and maiming and injuries of tens of thousands of more Iraqis and Americans, all based on erroneous informations. Can one say "Oooops!"?

But, one good reporter gets his entire career ruined by a bunch of neocon hacks because he went with a story that didn't have entirely backed up info. Aside from the fact that the story was based on some kind of forgery, it was otherwise not wrong. And, no one died as a result. No one was injured as a result. But, his he was hung out to dry.

Zink, I know you think you're fighting the good fight here, standing up for an oppressed minority on a site dominated by the evil Right-Wing, but you have to step back and look at how Dabe has historically behaved. This is not a grounding based on one article or one comment. This is the end-result of a long stream of extremely vulgar and insulting posts and comments.

I don't think I've once seen dabe present a rational, calm argument on anything. She launches straight into Rebublicans being Fascist or Bush being Hitler or our armed forces being Nazi thugs or whatever strikes her fancy at the time. She uses these terms without understanding their meaning, using them only to try and rub some fo the negative perception off on her target of hate. When someone disagrees with her, she can't calmly and respectfully argue and debate, she insults and attacks. Sometimes quite personally.

Yes, many here on the right get away with being condescending, rude, mean, insulting etc because they know the limits. They also have 0 respect for dabe because she has proven time and again that she deserves no such respect. I don't think I've ever seen drmiller, one of the angrier conservatives here (self-admitted even), ever use profanity. If he can resist the urge, I'm sure dabe can.

There are those among us here that are left-leaning. I find myself in disagreement with people like DrGuy, drmiller, Baker and LW a lot... I mean a lot... But I keep it civil. Because I keep it civil, I don't get condescending and insulting replies back from them. Because I respect them and their views, they respect me and mine... even though we don't agree with each other.

Dabe respects no one who disagrees with her, and thus no one respects her in return. Whatever valid points Dabe may try to make, she shoots herself in the foot with the first cuss word, with the first use of "nazi" or "fascist" It's because of this hateful attitude that she finally got punished, and why it was rightly deserved.

Of course, if you want to get technical, DrG is in clear violation of the ToU by posting this article using her name in the title. (Naming another blogger in your title is a definite no-no.)

I do beleive that someone named you and helped you get free in their title.  I think the naming of the names is for derogatory purposes.  As this was not, I think they let it slide.  As it is, I can as long as I dont put it into forums!
