SO HERE I AM A WEEK LATER

There was no control and I could not get the feel or look I wanted. It was in my head just could not convey it to the page. And then I got hold of an ebook on XHTML and CSS within a few days I was writing basic code and Yesterday everything became clearer and was able to build my first "purely written by me in HTML web page." which is located at piers38.tk it's only one page and its not very good but it is purely mine in the sense that I designed it (loosely around the freewebs template) found and inserted a bookmark script and when I add new pages I will be applying a style sheet to the entire site so that I can change the look and feel of the site by changing a few lines of code in a file separate to my pages but within the sites file manager.

So What has this got to do with Smoking ?????

Well nothing really except that I am getting very engrossed into the whole CSS thing I think because for someone who left school at 14 I actually understood the basic principles of CSS and with a limited knowledge of HTML (learn more each day) I was astounded and very pleased with myself to say the least. So now I have set aside 4 hours a day to study and learn the coding and late next month will have my own paid hosted site designed by me (I cant wait I want it now) Today I learned how to up/download to my site with an FTP client (Ipswitch WS_FTP Pro very easy to learn and operate) and tonight I am going through my e book on XHTML and CSS (up to page 42) and tomorrow is another day. Sorry if this is a bit scrappy and all over the place but its a work in progress and I have created a "rule" which is that I must always where ever possible format my text by hand so it may take some time before it gets a bit more professional and I have been given a copy of dreamweaver 7.0.1 that I can have If I stay off the smokes (self imposed reward system)
