JU's Top 10 Americans - The Results!

A Drumroll, Please

After some debate, much voting, and several tie-breaking decisions, the results are in! I doubt that any more votes will be cast, so I just created the list from the votes we have now. Now, the diversity of the votes was so great that we ended up with severeal ties. In fact, only the number 1 spot wasn't in contention. So, while you guys are responsible for who is in the list, I am somewhat responsible for the general framework. Now, onto the actual list:

10. Bill Gates

9. Henry Ford

8. Abraham Lincoln

7. George Washington

6. Those who make everyday life better

5. Thomas Edison

4. Franklin Roosevelt

3. Thomas Jefferson

2. Benjamin Franklin

And the number 1 greatest American acoording to JU, the man who was provided this country with the greatest benefit and truly deserves to be remembered throughout history...

Martin Luther King Jr!

Thanks for voting (if you did). Remember, the opinions represented in this list are your choices, not mine (except Washington; he was my vote), so if you don't like it, don't go yelling at me. Any of you upset about the lack of artists, Henry David Thoreau came in a close 11th. It was fun, and this list seems pretty good to me.

Ah, of course the man I vote for wins.

He would have won even without your vote, just so you know.

I like this list, but then again, any list is better than Discovery's. Ugh.

Peace,

It's a better list than Discovery's, but certainly also very, very cliched/predictable.

Perhaps because most of them have stood the test of time, and are still revered by americans to this day.  That is the true test of greatness.

Moreso than Abraham Lincoln?   And, to be correct, his name is actually "Michael King"

Moreso than Abraham Lincoln?

I was just saying that all for effect. He received more votes than anyone else, so he gets the nice mini-speech.

I'm not upset about the lack of artists, but I did find the revelations about perceptions interesting. Some lists were politician heavy, some artist heavy...and there really weren't any BAD nominations on the list (except for Abe...but I'll leave that discussion for another time...lol!)
