Welcome To My New Home
I haven't written in a while so I can understand nobody reading this, but maybe I'll find myself with a few replies *cough* *cough* words of encouragement *cough*.
Capt. over and out!
I have moved 4 times in the last 3 years, and once was across the country. The company I work for is now in the process of moving to a new office, and I can tell you that moving is very, very stressful. There is nothing comfortable when your surroundings, previously warm and safe, are now all different. Even if you get your personal stuff unpacked and put away fairly quickly, it still doesn't feel right and won't feel right for some time. But I promise you that in time it will begin to feel like home!
As for having your friends so far away: I've been there too. You may find that they don't come to visit as often as you would like, and you may begin to feel like they don't care. This is probably not true. Whenever possible, you should make the effort to go see them, or call them to invite them over. Don't wait until you feel bad about not seeing them, just pick up the phone!
Moving is very hard on everyone involved. Harder than I ever thought it would be. An hour is a long way, but not as far as across the country. It might take a little effort, but you will still be able to see your friends.
Take care. I hope you settle in soon!
